China Mountain (named after a mountain range in southern Oregon) was recorded over a year in her basement bedroom, and mixed in a Seattle studio with Trespassers bandmate Matt Brown. Most of the songs are built around acoustic guitar and several tracks of voice, and a bit of harmonica, keys, drums, ukulele, and harp. She was assisted on a few songs by friends - including Jeff Martin of Idaho on two of the album's tracks. China Mountain is available to buy now at www.saintlouprecords.com

Confession
Lotte Kestner Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Weakness how they pierce me through
You wield your tongue
Don′t you
The bottle of wine
Your voice and mine anew
A party if my heart already belongs to you
The swell of a tide
Sharing the lines
Dimming the lights
We might not have felt this till tonight
I wasn't expecting to feel anything
But sometimes the moment gets it right
I like the things you say when you drink
When is it
Just a kiss
Don′t let me try
Keep it closed
Nets around our butterflies
Party of my heart already belongs to you
Bottle of wine
Your voice and mine anew
The swell of a tide
All the boats rise
Dimming the lights
Sharing the lines
Ooooh
I like the things you say when you drink
In Lotte Kestner's song Confession, the lyrics portray a vulnerable individual who admits that words are their weakness, implying they are easily moved by words. However, their significant other wields their tongue to manipulate and control the relationship. The bottle of wine, together with their voices, symbolizes a new beginning, rekindling their relationship. The line "a party in my heart already belongs to you" emphasizes how deeply the individual feels about their partner. The swell of the tide portrays the ups and downs that come with love, and they hope that their love will rise above it. Dimming the lights and sharing the lines signify the intimacy they share. The individual reveals that they weren't expecting to feel anything but the moment was right, implying that their love is authentic, and they appreciate the little things their partner does. The lyrics, "I like the things you say when you drink," show that even though their partner may be intoxicated, they express themselves and their feelings honestly.
Overall, the lyrics in Confession depict an individual vulnerable to the power of words and their partner's control but also deeply in love with their partner's little details, even when they are not perfect.
