Crazy Doctor
Loudness Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

* Just when I thought my life was rising
The doctors left me here to die...
Trapped in a cage, locked in a prison,
Won't someone break this cursed lie!?

These walls are cold behind the steel door
Hear me scream, I'm beggin to be free...
My senses wonder am I dead or alive
I hear the devil laugh at me

** Everyday no way out
Everyday nowhere to run
They're coming after me
Doctors with their pain...

Take me away from here forever

*Repeat
**Repeat

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Loudness's song Crazy Doctor expresses the feelings of a person who is trapped in a mental asylum and is convinced that he/she is wrongly imprisoned. The opening lines suggest that the person had hopes of a bright future, but the doctors have taken away their freedom and left them to die in the asylum. This has made the person resentful, and they are seeking a way out of their predicament.

The person feels like they are trapped in a cage, and every effort they make to be free is met with failure. They feel like they are living in a cursed lie, and want someone to come and break the cycle. The second verse describes the person's mental state as they spend time in the asylum. They feel like their senses are playing tricks on them, and they are not sure if they are dead or alive. They can hear the devil laughing at them, which adds to their distress.

In the repetition of the chorus, the person describes how there is no way out of the asylum, and every day, they feel like they are being pursued by the doctors who want to subject them to more pain. The only solution is to be taken away from the asylum forever.

@kicorse

Great band. Today HAL-CA of Asterism revealed it was this song more than any other that inspired her to become a guitarist.

I saw these guys back in the early 1980s when they opened for Motley Crue . . . .or should I say when Motley Crue closed the show for them. 😊 Much better than "the Crue'. Great playing, great stage presence, too bad they didn't hit it big.
