C.K. was born in New York City, to a father descended from Jewish Hungarians and Catholic Mexicans, and a mother with Irish Catholic ancestors. After four years in Mexico, he grew up in Massachusetts, in Framingham and, mostly, Newton. His family pronounces their surname Szekely roughly as "SAY-kay", and in his grade-school years he resorted to "C.K." as an easy way to get his name pronounced almost correctly as "SEE-kay".
His credits as a writer include Saturday Night Live, Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Dana Carvey Show and the Chris Rock Show. He wrote and directed the movie, Pootie Tang, based on a sketch from the latter. His work for the Chris Rock Show was nominated for an Emmy Award three times, including winning "Best Writing in a Variety or Comedy Series" in 1999.
As a voice actor he portrayed Brendon's estranged father, Andrew Small, in Home Movies, and appeared numerous times on Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist.
He has performed his stand-up frequently on shows like Late Night with Conan O'Brien and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Most recently his subject matter reflected his frustrations and anxieties from raising his four-year-old daughter. He was ranked #98 on Comedy Central's list of the 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time.
In the spring of 2005, C.K. created, with executive producer Mike Royce, a pilot for a sitcom entitled Lucky Louie on HBO. In August, C.K. performed a half-hour HBO special as part of the stand-up series One Night Stand. In September 2005, he began production on twelve episodes, as the rest of the first season of thirteen episodes started airing in June 2006. HBO canceled the series in September 2006, despite rating on par with the network showcase series "The Wire". The show was filmed in front of a live studio audience; it was HBO's first series in that format, and the movie lot being used for taping the first season is the same one where Desi Arnaz made the multi-camera live-audience approach a hallmark of the I Love Lucy show. Lucky Louie is described as a bluntly realistic portrayal of family life; some summarize it as "Everybody Loves Raymond with swearing." Also C.K. vehemently hates laugh tracks and wanted his show to be like a play. (Christopher Titus made a similar but less graphic sitcom based on his life)

If I drop will it make a sound
Would you tell me to turn it down
Feeling down, turn around
You'll become who you surround
Earth bound and button-downed
All time low, now I'm high
First I fall, then I rise
Cuz I know that I lived or
At least I tried
I see you in the deep end
Easy to breathe when you're up like me
When you're up, when you're up like me
I feel you on the defence
Nothing's too deep when you're up like me
When you're up, when you're up like me
Oh, what a place to
Breathe
Breathe
Breathe
Breathe
When you're up, when you're up like me
Hand me down, fancy gown
If I drop would you like my pounds
Would you tell me to strip it down
Settle down, wedding gown
Man and wife I now pronounce
Proper nouns tryna hold me down
All time low, now I'm high
First I fall, then I rise
I see you in the deep end
Easy to breathe when you're up like me
When you're up, when you're up like me
I feel you on the defence
Nothing's too deep when you're up like me
When you're up, when you're up like me
Oh, what a place to
Breathe
Breathe
Breathe
Breathe
When you're up, when you're up like
Oh, what a place to
Breathe
Breathe
Breathe
Breathe
When you're up, when you're up like me
I'd quit but I want this
Cause I know where my heart is
I think that I've been through the hardest
I'd quit but I want this
Yes, I know where my heart is
At least I'm not back where I started
I see you in the deep end
Easy to breathe when you're up like me
When you're up, when you're up like me
I feel you on the defence
Nothing's too deep when you're up like me
When you're up, when you're up like me
Oh, what a place to
Breathe
Breathe
Breathe
Breathe
When you're up, when you're up like
Oh, what a place to
Breathe
Breathe
Breathe
Breathe
When you're up, when you're up like
When you're up like
Me
Me
Me
Me
When you're up, when you're up like me
The lyrics of Louis C.K.'s song "Encore" seem to express the emotions of a person who feels lost and alone in the world, seeking for meaning and guidance. The first verse describes the feelings of a lost soul, who is trying to find his way in the world. The second verse is an expression of hopelessness, as the person realizes how little he knows about life, and wonders if someone out there could show him the way. The chorus is a desperate call for help, a plea for someone to answer and offer some guidance.
The repetition of the lyrics "A little lost soul" and "A little lost hope" throughout the song emphasizes the feeling of being lost and hopeless, and the need for someone to intervene and offer guidance. The line "I call to no-one, so quiet still" suggests that the person feels ignored and invisible, as if his call for help falls on deaf ears. The line "It seems you've closed the door" implies that the person feels rejected, and that whoever he hoped would offer help has given up on him.
Overall, the song expresses a sense of longing for connection and meaning, and the difficulty of finding it in a world that can seem cruel and indifferent. The plea for an encore at the end of the song suggests that the person is still searching, still hoping that someone will answer his call and offer him a way forward.

A little lost soul
I'm feeling aimless and unsure of my place
A light on the hill
There's still some hope in the distance
A fight goes unrelinquished
I'm going through something difficult and can't give up yet
A sudden chill
The reality of the situation hits me hard
A little lost hope
I'm starting to lose faith in the future
The world will still turn
Even when things seem hopeless, life goes on
I call to no-one
I feel like I'm stuck in this alone
So quiet still
No one is answering my calls for help
A story untold
There's a lot about my life that's unknown and confusing
So confused of meaning
I can't make sense of what's happening to me
So much I don't know
There's too much uncertainty in my life
Show me the meaning
I need someone to guide me to a clearer understanding
Or guide me home
I'm feeling lost and need someone to show me the way
Hello
Is anyone out there?
Is anybody there?
I'm desperately reaching out for help
I have so far to go
I'm facing a long and difficult journey ahead
It seems you've closed the door
No one is responding to my calls for help
I ask a little more
Please, is there anyone who can help me?
Don't leave it all to chance
I need some guidance and support to make it through
This is my encore
I'm giving it one last shot to find some hope and meaning in my life

¡Qué mucho me he reído escuchando esto!
