Spinning Wheel
Love Hate Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Say you are a dancer - come and dance
Take off your shirt - take off your pants
Take off your stockings - take off your bra
Take off your makeup and let's see it all
Now peel on the spinning wheel

Say you are a singer - come and sing
Take off your necklace - take off your rings
Take off your garter belt - take off your dress
Take off your perfume want to see your nakedness
Now peel on the spinning wheel

In your set of three you can be anything you want to be
In your set of three you think of me anything you want now peel

Say you are a dancer - come and dance
Take off your shirt - take off your pants
Take off your stockings - take off your bra
Take off your makeup and let's see it all

Now peel on the spinning wheel
Now peel get on your poles and ride

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Love Hate's song "Spinning Wheel" are a reflection of the provocative and sensual atmosphere of a nightclub. The song invites people to indulge in their desires and let go of their inhibitions. The repetitive chorus encourages people to "peel" on the spinning wheel, which is a metaphor for shedding their clothes and revealing their true selves.

The first verse refers to dancers, encouraging them to take off their clothing and makeup to reveal their natural beauty. The second verse is directed towards singers, urging them to remove their jewelry and clothing to become vulnerable and expose their voice. The line "in your set of three you can be anything you want to be" suggest that people can be whoever they want to be in this environment without judgement.

The bridge of the song repeats the idea of "peeling" on the spinning wheel, while the final line encourages people to "get on your poles and ride", which could be interpreted as a reference to pole dancing or simply a call to revel in the night's entertainment.

Overall, "Spinning Wheel" is a song that celebrates the freedom and uninhibited nature of the nightclub scene, inviting people to embrace their desires and let go of their inhibitions.

I remember cutting this video but what I remember better about that time period was cutting every drum track to that record in one single session with no overdubs and no splicing. I drummed my ass off for a month to prep for that record. Just played the Whisky in Hollywood two Saturday nights ago with Pearl for a 30 year anniversary show of our first record release - Blackout. He can still sing. It was epic fun and I still loved drumming to Spinning Wheel.

That's a hell of an achievement.. my band is still finishing the writing of our songs while we record them. Haha

I remember buying the record.i was buying classic albums on weekly basis in 92 and got this in a whim. I was disappointed because it wasn't major league quality more like great demo quality but it is a great record I reach out for regularly. Kinda grungy like other classic albums sound of white noise art of Rebellion motley crue subhuman race dogman.Even dream theaters awake has grunge influences on tracks like lie and caught in a Web. This was one instance where the a and r guys were bang on the money.

Great job on the drum tracks especially wrong side of the grape lol.

ECW. The crowd needed a diversion. Thank this song and Kimona for that.

If the ring hadn't broke it never would have happened

Love/Hate was a totally underrated band. Lumped in with the LA scene, but they were so much more heavy and diverse. Even a sleazy song like this is just HEAVY.

@robh.5595

I remember hearing this in heavy rotation back in 93-94 on Z--Rock...shame they never got the recognition they deserved.
