At first it was a group of people creating all sorts of noises in the basement. Then finally things calmed down and LowPunch started to exist in the line-up that has not been changed since: two brothers, Ivo and Radovan Lozej on bass guitar and electric guitar, David Stibilj on drum section and Dean Gnezda, vocals.
The purpose has always been to create loud and fast music. Soon there was enough material to start performing live. And slowly the band created a reputation of being honest and energetic and people started to have a lot of fun at their shows. They released their demo tape in 1999. The band started to play shows abroad and soon a 4-way split CD with Entreat., Man in the Shadow and Straight Forward was released. The band played more and more shows, created new songs and in the year 2000 their debut was released. Act...Revolt...Live... (Choose Life records, 2000) is a good representation of the band and its ideas, which try to base on socio-political subjects rather than blending in with the stereotypical love-song writing. The band decided to go on tour and joined their fellow band Entreat, who were also representing their debut Shaded, on a journey filled with fun and tears through Germany, Austria, Hungary and Czech Republic. But after coming home LowPunch decided to break up. Their last show was performed in Mostovna in July 2001.
But band members of LowPunch cooperated in other musical projects such as Summers Gone, Kill the Routine and Elodea (which still functions with its quality hard core music; check them out). And then came the year 2005 and guys from Mostovna decided to do a tribute show for the bands that existed around the year 2000. LowPunch were invited, they had a couple of rehearsals and played on that show in April 2005. The crowd was utterly satisfied and LowPunch decided to carry on their musical gathering. After troubles with finding a place to rehearse they were given a nice room in which they are allowed to create new songs and in the year 2006 the creation of music continues.
