Low Roar draws from ambient influences, especially on single, "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight," a sultry electro-washed song, recalling late 90's era Radiohead. The album takes the listener on Karazija’s unsettled journey conveying emotion with yearning choruses and haunting strings in simple, yet stark, classical arrangements, alongside optimistic melodies and folk-styled songs. Combining elements of post rock with minimalist tones and sonically aligning with the change and introversion of fall, Low Roar released on November 1st, 2011, by Tonequake Records.
Adding players Júlíus Óttar Björgvinsson and Katie Buckley to the live show, Low Roar slowly reveals a beautiful and powerful set consisting of loops and layers of instrumentation including guitar, harp, pump organ, percussion, and keys – at times, a combination capable of evoking tears.
On October 28th, 2022, it was announced that Ryan Karazija had died due to complications with Pneumonia; aged 40. About a month prior to the announcement, it was stated that Karazija had been working on a new Low Roar record titled "house in the woods" which would be announced in the former to be "released when it is ready."
In The Morning
Low Roar Lyrics

What fears me most, keeps my heart near.
So peak your head from beyond the curtains.
The sky will stretch as far as you let it.
And I want you to know, I need you to know,
I love you so much more each morning.
The lyrics of "In The Morning" by Low Roar convey a sense of vulnerability as the singer implores someone to "let me in." It is not clear if the singer is seeking physical or emotional entrance, but what is clear is the fear that seems to reside in the singer's heart. This fear, while unnamed, is what seems to keep the singer's heart close at hand. By asking the other person to "peak your head from beyond the curtains," the singer is essentially asking for reassurance, for someone to acknowledge them and remind them that they are not alone in the uncertainty they feel. The sky, which is a recurring image throughout the song, is presented as something that is vast and boundless, yet also determined by our perception of it - it will only stretch as far as we let it. This seems to suggest that our fears and anxieties can make the world seem smaller and more suffocating, but also that we have the power to change our perception of things.
In the chorus, the singer emphasizes their love for the other person, declaring that every morning their love grows stronger. This could be interpreted in a few different ways - on one hand, it could be seen as a romantic declaration, with the singer expressing their devotion to the other person. On the other hand, it could be read as a statement about the transformative power of love - that even in the face of fear and uncertainty, love has the ability to create resilience and growth. The repetition of "I need you to know" also adds to the sense of urgency and vulnerability in the song, as if the singer is desperate for the other person to understand the depth of their feelings.
