Biography
Formed in 1995 in Austin TX, Lower Class Brats set out to create music unlike anything else in their city. A mixture of Punk, Oi!, 70s Glam and straight ahead rock and roll merged with the theatric imagery of A Clockwork Orange. After six months of writing and rehearsals the band began to perform and released a demo cassette. A year later the band's first full length “Rather Be Hated Than Ignored” was released on GMM records and became the soundtrack for a fanbase now known as the “LCB Army”.
The recorded history of five full-length LPs, thirteen 7” EPs and three different compilation LPs under their belts. Provides testament to the band's reputation that they are a group that works as hard as they play. All while performing worldwide across the US, Canada, UK, Europe and Asia.
LCB members- Bones (vox), Marty Volume (guitar), Ron Conflict (bass), Zed (guitar) and Nick Brat (drums) continue to record and perform after a 20+ year history. Taking great care that every live show is more than "just another gig" and a night for those in attendance to cut loose, forget their daily woes and sing, scream and shout along.

I'm a super-yob standing in a rosy-red light
Baby you're looking so nice tonight
So lovely, Oh so neat
Right from your tiger lights
Down to your tiger feet-feet
Go,Go,Go,Go Glam Bastard
Baby your glitter paint's so absurd
Maybe someday you'll dance on 43rd
But your teenage rampage, I overheard
Was gone 20 years ago
You're looking so tired
So used and so old
Go,Go,Go,Go Glam Bastard
Go,Go,Go,Go Glam Bastard

The song "Glam Bastard" by Lower Class Brats is a commentary on the glam rock era of the 1970s and its lasting impact on modern society. It depicts a scene of a yob, or troublemaker, in a small town on a Saturday night, observing a person who embodies the glam rock aesthetic. The lyrics describe this person's appearance in detail, from their glitter paint to their tiger-striped clothing. However, the song takes a cynical turn when it is revealed that this person's "teenage rampage" is long gone and they are now "tired" and "used". The chorus repeats the phrase "Go, Go, Go, Go Glam Bastard" in a almost mocking tone.
The song seems to be criticizing the artificiality and superficiality of the glam rock movement, which relied heavily on image and stage theatrics rather than musical skill or sincerity. The lines "Star-Studded-Sham / Gold-Plated-Cheap / Diamond-Studded-fake" and "Sham-Cheap-Fake" drive this point further. The song asks the listener to question the value of this movement and whether it was truly meaningful or just a fleeting trend.
Overall, "Glam Bastard" serves not only as a critique of glam rock, but also as a broader commentary on social trends and consumer culture.
