The band is comprised of vocalist Darren Ford, guitarist Dan Symons and bassist Miles Willey. Formed in 1998 in St. Albans, England, they signed with Nude Records, a financially-strapped recording company. They released the now highly revered Just Backward of Square in 2001 to mixed reactions from the British music press. After the collapse of Nude Records they resigned to Sanctuary Records releasing the critically acclaimed Welcome To Winners in October 2003. The band now run their own independent label Dedtedrecords which saw the release of a double CD Lowgold retrospective collection called Keep Music Miserable in October 2005.
Lowgold release new album 'Promise Lands' on 31st March 2008 and will briefly tour around its release.

Beauty Dies Young
Lowgold Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Easy rider, she could dream all day
Dream all day
Flying blind into a slow decay
Now is nothing when it's yesterday
Yesterday
She's heading all the way to the sun
Or far enough to get what she wants
Maybe she will, maybe she won't
It's easy to say, hard if you don't
But you've got to make the most of today
For beauty dies young
Beauty dies young
Yeah, she's heading all the way to the sun
Or far enough to get what she wants
Maybe she will, maybe she won't
It's easy to say, hard if you don't
But you've got to make the most of today
For beauty dies young
But you've got to make the most of today
For beauty dies young
You've got to make the most of today
For beauty dies young, beauty dies young
Beauty dies young
The song "Beauty Dies Young" by Lowgold explores the idea that beauty fades with time and that one must make the most of the present moment. The opening lines paint a picture of someone who could easily lose herself in daydreams as if she were an "Easy rider." However, she's "flying blind into a slow decay" and realizing that yesterday is gone. The song then goes into the chorus that repeats the idea of "heading to the sun" or "far enough to get what she wants."
The song suggests that she may or may not succeed in her journey, and that it's easy to say things like "make the most of today," yet harder to actually do it. The repetition of the line "beauty dies young" emphasizes that time is fleeting and that we must seize the moment. The song's message is not necessarily that one must attain physical beauty, but that one must make the most of what they have while they have it. The final refrain of "you've got to make the most of today" reinforces the importance of living in the present.
Overall, "Beauty Dies Young" encourages listeners to appreciate the fleeting nature of time and make the most of each day.

Absolutely love this band. Shame what happened. The sound quality on this vid is poor and that freaking fly... Why?? Detracts from an awesome song.
@rjpaws
Massively overrated prima donnas who claim to love decent bands like Aerial M and Pullman. Plus Willey was a lightweight drinker
