1) Lucero is an American country-punk rock band that is based in Memphis, Tennessee. Since 2001, they have played between 150 and 200 shows a year across the United States and Canada. They have released eight full-length albums, the latest entitled Women & Work.

Cause if I get back up I'll only fall down more
It ain't the liquor and it ain't the beer that keeps me down
It ain't the sad songs or heartache it ain't even this town
Now I must've had a pretty good time to end up here
Made a pretty good run it caught up with me my dear
There's no need to make a fuss cause I'll be all right
Now I'm just a little bit tired that's all
Don't make me get back up cause I'll just fall
Please stop talking so loud and just let me sleep
I ain't in nobody's way they can just step over me
Well I think I'll just stay right down here on this floor
Cause if I get back up I'll only fall down some more
Now I'm just a little bit tired that's all
Don't make me get back up cause I'll just fall
"I'll Just Fall" by Lucero is a melancholic song that speaks about being at the bottom and not having the strength to get back up. The lyrics convey the sense of defeat and weariness that come with a long night of drunkenness and heartbreak. The vocalist seems to be immobilized and resigned to his current state, choosing to remain on the floor rather than risking another fall.
The first verse reveals that the singer is aware of the reasons why he ended up in this state, and it's not solely because of intoxication. It's a combination of different factors that made him hit rock bottom, such as the weight of the past, heartache, and a stagnant environment. He acknowledges that getting up at this point is futile, as he's likely to fall back down again.
The second verse shows that the singer has accepted his situation as it is and doesn't want to disturb anyone with his plight. He knows he will be all right eventually, but he needs time to reorient himself and regain his strength. He's merely tired, not defeated, and just wants to lie down for a while until he can stand up again. The last verse reiterates that the singer doesn't want to get up, and he's too tired to do so. He pleads for the people around him to let him rest, for if he were to try and stand, he'd only fall back down.
Overall, the message of the song is about giving oneself the needed time to heal and regroup. It's about understanding that sometimes reaching for the sky is impossible, and it's better to stay low, take a moment to recenter oneself before trying again.
