This song, "Panis Angelicus," is a Gregorian chant hymn that has been set to music by various composers throughout history. The lyrics describe the miraculous nature of the bread of heaven, which is given to all people as a gift from God. The first verse describes the bread of angels, which is also the bread of humanity, and the second verse emphasizes the humble and lowly nature of those who partake of this sacred sustenance.
As an operatic tenor, Pavarotti would likely be familiar with the rich history of liturgical music, including Gregorian chants like "Panis Angelicus." The lush orchestration and soaring choral harmonies in this particular rendition enhance the spiritual and emotional impact of the lyrics. The music serves to elevate the listener's spirit and draw them closer to the divine, much like the bread of heaven itself.

Mi dispiace tanto non aver potuto presenziare ad uno dei suoi concerti, quando ancora nel fior dei suoi anni era già una fiorente soprano.

I am in tears after discovering Patricia passed away in the prime of her life few weeks ago. I humbly offer my condolences to her family, friends and loved once. Her charming personality and remarkable voice left great impression on me and many others. For that I am grateful. This is beyond sad.. fare well dear Patricia!

So sad that Patricia is no longer with us in person, but so glad we have her recordings and videos. The finest soprano I ever heard. A blessing to all who have heard her. May God grant you peace. Praying for Patricia's family and friends, may you be uplifted and know the loving arms of the Saviour.

I was following her way to eternity during the last 4-5 years. She made me open towards operas again. She was beautiful, extremely talented, unique. My thoughts were with here during her struggling with breast cancer. She was an angel on Earth I am pretty sure. I will never forget her. R.I.P. Patricia
