It was originally formed in a drastic attempt to collect money for an attorney, to fight Jennifer's parents for custody of her daughter. The attempt was unsuccesful and from The Black Death on, was strictly made out of Ryan's love of music and disdain for religion and government.
He is actually still making music under his real name now, as a solo artist. He is currently married to another atheist, just like himself. If you'd like to hear more music from him, you can Search here on Last.fm for his name.
It's hard to say what genre this band is, considering the multiple different styles, but they really bring an array of different skills into the picture.

@@pshekchik do you believe in gravity
What is gravity? It is believed by modern quantum physicists to be a sub atomic particle known as a 'graviton'. According to most scientists, this particle has neither mass nor charge, and thus, theoretically, does not exist. so the answer is no. Gravity doesn't exist. And also, since at the quantum level, everything is fundimentally made of energy, and thus mass is an illusion. This means I don't believe in YOU or ME either. Neither of us exist. We are an illusion.
...Now you know what it feels like to be God in the eyes of physicists.

There is a hill at the bottom of the valley
Where all the poor souls go when they die
And if you listen real close, you can hear 'em like a ghost
And you're never gonna make it out alive
There is a town at the bottom of that hill
They got a secret that they keep like a slave
They got a black magic preacher
We'd do well to let him teach her
You'll be heading up that hill to the grave
And it is well with my soul
You line your pockets full of money
That you steal from the poor
And on your way down the hill
You hear me ring the bell
I'd pay the devil twice as much to keep your soul
There was a drifter passing through that little valley
He had promised he was coming back to town (coming back to town)
They didn't kno
There is a hill at the bottom of the valley
Where all the poor souls go when they die
And if you listen real close, you can hear 'em like a ghost
And you're never gonna make it out alive

There was a drifter passing through that little valley
He had promised he was coming back to town (coming back to town)
They didn't know him by his face or by the gun around his waist
But he'll come back to burn that town to the ground
First there was fire, then there was smoke
Then the preacher man was hanging by a rope
And then they all fell to their knees
And begged that drifter, begged him please
As he raised his fist before he spoke
I am the righteous hand of God
And I am the devil that you forgot
And I told you one day you will see
That I'll be back, I guarantee
And that hell's coming, hell's coming
Hell, hell's coming with me
And it is well with my soul
You line your pockets full of money
That you steal from the poor
And on your way down the hill
You hear me ringing that bell
And I say
Hell's coming (hell's coming) with
@SouthDakotaFacts
I believe the song was actually inspired by the Clint Eastwood movie High Plains drifter.
In the movie, a stranger rides into a town (like the man in this song) The town is full of bad people, bar a few. He fends off the evildoers. But hereβs the twist: The stranger was actually a former Marshall of the town. The town stood by while gangsters murdered him. Thatβs why the people didnβt recognize him but he said heβd be back again one day.
To add to this. Itβs suspected the movie is a prequel to another movie Pale Rider. The main character is another (maybe the same) stranger. However, the name Pale Rider suggests a relevance to the biblical apocalypse, hence βthe righteous hand of godβ
I know the two arenβt exactly the same, but I think these guys defiantly saw those movies.
