The most terrifying thing is that moment is when you realize that the whole journey of Constantine into Hell just happened non in seconds, non in milliseconds but immediately. That means that, when Constantine moves to the Hell time just stopped in reality. That is pefect explaniation of infitness inside Hell. Loved this movie. It was a different depiction, but Keanu was pure Constantine. You can see him putting the pieces together once he sees Isabelle:
1) Okay, there she is
2) She's caught in a loop, which means I need to pick up the pace
3) Aaaand there are the demons, right on cue
4) Don't look at the girl, just focus on the band--nothing you can do for her

Same here. As disturbing as it is I wonder to what extent is there suffering. Is it always chaos and violent torture at the hands of the demons and the environment or does Hell have some level of organization in that movie's universe? Like the demons have segments of hell for certain people, like it says in the bible and all that (and also in various fictional books). The video game Agony is like a version of Hell from Constantine that you experience yourself, but it's much more abstract and fantasy-like.

In Heaven, you are joined together in a massive congregation of souls, worshiping God. You are released from all worldly temptation and suffering, you can do all that you thought was impossible in life (walk if you were lame, fly if you so choose) and can finally fulfill the purpose you were made for.

In Hell, rather than joined together with other souls in suffering, you are oblivious to the plight of others, isolated and solely focused on your own suffering, which is ultimately self-inflicted. To paraphrase Meister Eckhart as brilliantly portrayed in the film Jacob's Ladder (1990), you will see your life being torn apart, every fragment of everything that keeps you bound to the life you lived, the life you wanted, your regrets and sins, all of it endlessly haunting you on loop as if you were Bill Murray in Groundhog Day. You will be given to your own personal demons, who of course are really angels, trying desperately to free you from the Earth and your familiar desires, only to fail because you would rather suffer in the familiar than to let go of everything you hold dear.

Hell isn't so much a place (or a setting), so much as it is a state of being that you yourself subject yourself to out of a stubborn desire to find meaning in that which has none.

This is the best version of Hell that I've seen in any film, which is one of the reasons why a like this film. Ghost Rider (2007) was no where near this Dark, Serious, and Intense!!

I noticed in Lucifer Season 1 x Episode 9; Amenadiel said that time works differently and much slower in hell.
When Malcolm died for 30 days, he felt like he was down there for 30 years.

And on this scene; as John travels to hell, Angela almost froze and John came back to Earth in an instant as if he was gone for only a millisecond.
