Lucky Ali and his father Mahmood shared a tempestuous relationship. Mehmood was a very busy actor in 1960s and 70s, and remained away from home for his shoots. Once, around the age of five when Lucky's mother came with him to receive Mehmood at the airport, Lucky didn't recognize his father and on seeing him said, "He's the film comedian Mehmood!" Lucky Ali lived away from his family in a boarding school up in the foothills of the Himalayas in Mussoorie. Lucky's tryst with marijuana led Mehmood to write the script of the movie Dushman Duniya Ka (Enemy of the World).[3] The movie stars Ali's youngest brother,Manzoor. It is the story of the drug abuse of a young man called Lucky. In the end the young man kills his mother, destroys everything around him and is then killed by his father. Lucky Ali differed with his father's vision and did not act in the movie. "I felt the story lacked hope," he said.[3] However he sang his first song for the film.

This album won many of the top awards in Indian music, including the Best Pop Male Vocalist at the 1996 Screen Awards and the Channel V Viewers Choice Award in 1997. It stayed on the MTV Asia Charts for 60 weeks. The song O Sanam from Sunoh, launched his career and is considered by some to be one of the best indi-pop songs ever.[1] His next album, Sifar, wasn't quite as successful as Sunoh, but it was noted for its music, lyrics and vocals.

When asked about the video, he once said "The video of 'Anjaani Raahon Mein' was a beautiful story in itself. It was done straight from the heart and it is very special to me."
His latest album is Xsuie, which he released on internet as he didnt want to just make money. Thus he decided not to go with any label and just to release his music as an independent artist.

Door jisko samjha who to paas hai tere...
Saans mein hawa... Jaan Mein zameen...
Dil mein khulaa aasmaan
Pyaar hai khuda, pyaar hai khushi
Pyaar se hai dono jahan.
Tera ye aashiyana...
Mera bhi aashiyana...
O anjani rahon mein phir kya dhoondhanta phire...
Door jisko samjha who to paas hai tere...
Ghoomta raha... Door tu kahin...
Udate baadlon... Ki tarah...
Kahin se tujhe.Aai Hai sada
Lot ke aa ab jara...
Tera ye aashiyana...
Mera bhi aashiyana...
Woh jhilmilati aakhein ... Bholi si ada...
who dheere dheere chal ke lehrati hawa... aein...
Hamkon le jaaye wahan...
Jahan ho ghar apne na...
Teri yaadoein mein paaya hai
aaj toh.oo... Milne ka din hai aaya aaya...
Saans mein hawa... Jaan mein zameen...
Dil mein khulaa aasmaan...
Pyaar hai khuda pyaar hai khushi
pyaar se hai dono jahan.Aa.
Tera ye aashiyana...
Mera bhi aashiyana...
Anjani rahon mein tu kya tujhe dhoondhanta phire...
Door jisko samjha who to paas hai tere...
Hummm.Hmmm... Hummm.Mmm.
Hummm.Hmmm... Hummm.Mmm.
Hummm.Hmmm... Hummm.Mmm.
Hummm.Hmmm... Hummm.Mmm.
Oooo.Oo.Ooo.Oo...
The lyrics of Lucky Ali's song Anjani Raahon Mein describe a search for something or someone that is already very close. The singer wonders why we keep searching for things that we believe are far away, when the truth is that they may be right next to us, waiting to be discovered. The lines "Door jisko samjha who to paas hai tere" (What you consider far away is actually very close to you) emphasizes this idea.
The theme of the song is quite poetic, with the singer drawing beautiful imagery like "Saans mein hawa, Jaan Mein zameen, Dil mein khulaa aasmaan" (Air in the breath, earth in the body, and an open sky in the heart). He also touches on the power of love, saying that it is what can make our world meaningful and complete.
Overall, the song's message is quite introspective, suggesting that we should take a closer look at our lives and not overlook the things and people that are already present in our lives. By doing so, we might be able to find happiness and fulfillment in the simple things that surround us.
