Timekeeper

Do you know what you bargained for
Would you do it again
Live the life that you lost before
Did the judge raise his hand
Send you back to the promise land
Were you counted your change
Leave your sorrows in your past home (go)
Live your second life with new hope (go)
I will see you when your light turns red
When your light turns red
Painted into new skin
Watch the particles settle in
See the girl by the door
A funny feeling you’ve met before
Leave your sorrows in your past home (go)
Live your second life with new hope (go)
I will see you when your light turns red
When your light turns
Have you forgotten all that you are
Fates and fables all written in stone
Have you forgotten all that you are
Fates and fables all written in stone
Leave your sorrows in your past home (go)
Live your second life with new hope (go)
I will see you when your light turns red
When your light turns red
The song "Timekeeper" by Lucy Schwartz tells a story about someone who has made a deal with the "timekeeper" - a metaphor for fate or destiny. The song questions whether the person fully understood the consequences of this decision and whether they would make the same choice again. The lyrics describe the idea that the person has been given a second chance at life, but they must leave their sorrows behind and embrace the new beginning. The chorus repeats the idea that the singer will see the person when their "light turns red", which may represent the end of their life or another significant moment.
The lyrics also mention the idea of being "painted into new skin", which could represent the idea that the person has been reborn or has undergone a significant transformation. The lines "Watch the particles settle in" suggest that the person is processing this change and coming to terms with their new self. The song also brings up the idea of fate and how our lives are predetermined to some extent, with the lines "Fates and fables all written in stone".
Overall, the song "Timekeeper" tells a story of transformation and the idea that we have the power to leave our past behind and start anew. The lyrics also explore the idea of fate and the inevitability of certain events in our lives.
