With a sound that is a balanced blend of electronic, acoustic and rock guitar music, Lucybell has been compared to Blur, Catherine Wheel and Radiohead. Their critically acclaimed debut, Peces, won them the Best New Group award from the Chilean Association of Entertainment Journalists (APES). 1996s Viajar launched the band to international fame, with the several singles in rotation on MTV and tours that took them to Mexico, the U.S. and Colombia. Lucybell put together their own studio to record their eponymous third album, which they then took to Buenos Aires to mix and to Londons Abbey Road Studios to master with engineer Chris Blair (The Beatles, Radiohead).
The success of the bands fourth studio album, Amanece, clinched their position as one of the most important Latin rock bands in Chile and Latin America, and their live album and DVD, Sesión Futura, along with the Sálvame la vida EP, earned them the Best Group APES award in 2003.
Lucybell is now the best-selling rock band in Chile. With six gold records and a large and faithful fan base, this trio is poised to take on the world.
In keeping with their desire to reach a larger audience, Lucybell moved to Los Angeles, California in April, 2003. They spent the following months composing new material in their Burbank rehearsal studio, and during that time met British sound engineer Adam Moseley (Roxette, The Cure, Kiss). Moseley shared the bands vision of their new sound, so they chose him to produce the new albums first single, recorded and mixed at the Dust Brothers studio The Boat.
Sálvame La Vida was released as an EP in Chile as Lucybell began work on the rest of the album. Lucybell recorded and mixed 12 more songs at The Boat with Moseley, completing the process at the end of 2003. The album reveals an at once more mature and more experimental sound. Guitarist / vocalist Claudio Valenzuela's elegant lyrics and bassist/keyboardist Eduardo Caces' intensive production efforts complete the bands new sound: Lúmina.
Cote Foncea joined the band in 2005, he has a long time relation with Claudio and Eduardo so it was very easy to set the band up, touring all around America immediately. Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Colombia and USA have been regular stops on Lucybell's Touring Schedule.
After almost a year playing live shows, the band started producing and recording (in Estudios Foncea - Chile and panda Studios - Argentina) their 8th Studio album called Comiendo Fuego. This was coproduced with long time friend and producer Adam Moseley. The album went number one in Chilean Charts and was a great star for a complete year of touring and promoting.
The band moved to Mexico City and between 2006 and 2007 they completed a new EP called Primitivo. Six songs and heavy rock mood was the result of the band's 9th Production. Cote, Claudio and Eduardo took care of the production and composing. It was recorded in Chile (Estudios Foncea) and Mixed in Mexico (Jarpa Estudios).
2008 have been a very busy year for the band. They recorded a live show, two days in a recording studio with 200 people per show, 9 cameras, lot of energy, great music, 13 live songs, 2 new studio songs, 4 month post production. Produced by Lucybell, Executive Production by Cote Foncea, Christian Rojas and Pablo Ayala and Directed by Los Felipes (Felipe Foncea and Felipe Sepulveda)... this is called SESION PRIMITIVA and it will be the second live album from Lucybell. It is going to be released in November of 2008 with simultaneous release in Chile, Mexico and Peru.
Lunas
Lucybell Lyrics

The lyrics of Lucybell's song "Lunas" describe a surreal and mystical experience of witnessing two bewitching moons that intoxicate the sun with love. Despite its efforts to hold both hands at once, the sun cannot resist the enchanting power of these moons. The image of the sun tearing the sky with fear and then attempting to lick the burnt ground only adds to the dreamlike quality of the lyrics. The repetition of the phrase "dos lunas brujas" reinforces the idea that these moons are not ordinary; they possess some mysterious and potent force that mesmerizes even the sun.
The overall interpretation of these lyrics could vary from person to person. However, some may see the two moons as a metaphor for a romantic relationship that can be both alluring and destructive. The image of the sun trying to hold both hands at once but failing could represent the struggle of trying to balance the emotions of two partners. The moons' laughter could symbolize the unseen consequences of such pursuits. Ultimately, the song's lyrics evoke a sense of surrealism and leave the interpretation up to the listener's own imagination.
