Love this song! Best villian ever.

I remember seeing this on TV when it was first shown and being very impressed with the sheer power of Falk Struckmann's voice; it really seems to "penetrate." It didn't occur to me at the time, but the way his Pizzarro behaves (drinking, etc.) reminds me of Amon Goeth in SCHINDLER'S LIST.

Bravo Falk ! You are the best !!!

Logan Fruchtman

Well deserved applause

This is great!!

Absolutely great musically! But as for the staging...how original! A performance with "updated" costumes!!! When are directors are going to grow up and out of this nonsense? Each opera (or theatre play) is set at a specific time. They should respect that and present the play accordingly. Herbert von Karajan never went for this kind of nonsense - the performances he conducted were always faithful to the context of the plot...sadly, he was an exception in the last few decades.

THAT CODA

Isaiah Burkel

He doesn't sound as dark as usual. Is this a recording issue?

Ben Copeland

He and Leiferkus both sound much lighter in recordings than in person. I’ve read the same about Wixel but never heard him myself.

Not convinced that he is pissed at all. It must be the suit. it doesn't play as well a uniform.
