Luis Mariano became famous in France in the 50s with the light opera "La Belle de Cadix". His fame grew even more with "Le chanteur de Mexico" and "Violettes Imperiales", light operas on stage which became films. He enjoyed then a huge popularity and fans went even totally crazy about him.
He sang with Bourvil and Annie Cordy.
Luis Mariano had a unique voice and a unique style.
Luis Mariano died in 1970, totally used up after numbers of roadshows and tours, in the most dreadful financial situation, forgotten by all.
He was known to be an extremely cheerful person, enjoying life to the full, over generous with his friends and loving.

Miracle charmant
The lyrics of "Ciel de Paris" by Luis Mariano tell a story of the magic and charm found in the city of Paris. It begins by describing how a simple wave of a wand by a fairy can transform a poor girl into the queen of the ball. The song encourages the young ladies of Paris to believe in their own inner magic and embrace their role as "les fées de Paris" (the fairies of Paris).
The song then goes on to describe the miracle of Paris, where fingers dance, creating a floral dress that captivates the world. This charming miracle brings smiles to everyone's faces, yet no one truly understands why or how it happens. It seems that with just a needle and thread and a smile, the magic of Paris is created.
Similar to the character Gavroche, a young street urchin from Victor Hugo's Les Misérables, the "grisette" (a young working-class woman) and the student sing and embrace their poverty, finding happiness in their humble attic. Paris has chosen their small living space to make its nest, symbolizing that joy and contentment can be found in the simplest of places.
Overall, "Ciel de Paris" celebrates the enchantment and inexplicable magic that surrounds the city, highlighting the power of imagination, love, and the beauty found in everyday life.
