While Buddhism is mainly talked about as a religion, it's more of a philosophy since we don't put our faith in an almighty god. We don't believe in a superior god (a creator) who is able to control our lives. We believe in triple gems(Buddha, Dhamma - his preachings and Sangha - monks)

Buddhism as a religion is not about rigging off sins by worshiping the god, it's more about treating other people like how you want to be treated and that is the foundation of Buddhism. It is called karma and it is a principle that I follow greatly. Buddha, to me, was a great teacher and philosopher.

MK Gandhi didn't really teach this.. He taught us non violence and the value of truth and Buddha tought inner peace, and love for every thing.. They did have a little similarities But were very different Gandhi was for development of people so that they can create a better country but Buddha was all about how to better your conscience!

It's not the same tree, unfortunately. The tree that currently stands is a replacement, a branch of the tree in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka, which is a branch of the original tree. It's still quite an old tree...

When buddha gained his enlightment and nirvana he saw into the past where he saw that a lot of people has already became buddha. Budhha means knowledgeable. You and I can be buddha if we go right in the path of vipassana. But every man has right to live in his own way. As a real buddhist I'm not offended by such things. Peace to you all. @@pratham752 I have read Osho. He had tweaked a few meditation techniques. but he never discovered 112 ways. That was done by Lord Shiva. In fact, Mother Parvathi tried to challenge Lord Shiva that she could find new ways to meditate and accepted her defeat. That's because Lord Shiva has shown every possible way a person could mediate and those are the 112 techniques.
