When Iluminata decided it was time for an artistic hiatus, they got a hit on their ReverbNation account from a Chicago based producer interested in their musical concept. He showed a special interest in their unique, varied blend of musical elements fused into the 'rock en español' genre and expressed the wish to produce their first professional album under the independent label Thirdfire Records.
How to explain to this new player that what had been was no more? This new development brought together old friends and colleagues, and led the band to a crossroads. In the end, a new lineup decided the risk was worth taking a chance on this producer and bringing him into their confidence as to the state of the band.
After months of meetings and dialogue, Thirdfire Records comes up with a whole new offer. The label chose Dvy de Iluminata, Luis 'Lucho' Rivera and Kajhlo Álvarez to front the new project and lead the new concept because of their background and achievements, many of which made them pioneers in the local scene, such as:

† Made the Top 50 International Indie Bands in the New York City based Digital Café Tour of 2008.
† 1rst rock band to receive a formal Proclamation from Edgardo Arlequín Vélez, mayor of the city of Guayanilla, Puerto Rico for cultural achievements at home and abroad.
† 1rst rock band to perform at the historic Teatro Yagüez with the Ballet Escenario Dance Company.
† 1rst Puertorrican ensemble selected to be featured on the Chill Out Acoustic Compilation (Vol. 27; Song: 144,000 (Angels))
† 1rst and only Spanish speaking ensemble featured in Making Music History, a campaign sponsored by BBC International for children in need. (Song: Necesitas amor).
Thirdfire Records made the proposal, and so Luminara was born in the Fall of 2010; keeping the essence of the old but with a new focus and a revised concept in which acoustic sounds mix into a rock soundscape and meaningful lyrics taken on a mystical air. 'Otra Realidad' (Another reality) is the name of this, their first album, recorded in Chicago at the professional studios of Thirdfire Records and Fox River Recording Studio; produced and directed by Joan Vélez and Charlie Gaspadarek; mastered by 2 time Grammy winner, winner of the prestigious Juno (2008) and Dove (2009) awards Brad Blackwood of Euphonic Masters.

In "Vida" by Luminara, the singer addresses life (Vida in Spanish) directly, asking why it hides and telling it to stop running away. The world is at life's feet, but life doesn't see it. The lyrics then implore life to look within itself and confront its own consciousness.
The next lines suggest that life is feeding the void of its own darkness, and that it is foolish to continue doing so. The lyrics mention that every fairytale has an ending, but it doesn't have to be a sad one this time. The last two lines repeat the previous verses, urging life to open its eyes and for it to seek within itself a way to fill its emptiness.
The song seems to be a reminder to live fully and not to let the struggles and darkness of life consume oneself. The lyrics suggest that life has the power to change its own narrative and that it must look within to do so.
