Luna, a dream pop/indie rock band formed in 1991 by Dean Wareham after the breakup of Galaxie 500, with Stanley Demeski formerly of The Feelies and Justin Harwood formerly of the New Zealand band The Chills. Described by Rolling Stone magazine as “the best band you’ve never heard of,” Luna blended nuanced guitar work, shading dynamics, and Wareham's wry wit. The original line-up was expanded with the addition of guitarist Sean Eden for their second album, 1994's Bewitched. Lee Wall replaced Demeski on drums in time for 1997's Pup Tent, and Britta Phillips of The Belltower (also known as the singing voice of animated character Jem) joined when bassist Justin Harwood departed in 2000. They played their final concert at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City on February 28, 2005. Phillips and Wareham became romantically involved and eventually married in 2007. After reforming for tour dates in 2015 and 2016, Luna announced plans for two new recordings to be released in 2017.
4. Luna was a new wave band from Novi Sad, Serbia, formed by poet Slobodan Tišma in 1981, after the breakup of Tišma's earlier band, La Strada. Formed on the ashes of the new wave band La Strada and getting the name by the Bernardo Bertolucci film La Luna, Luna quickly gained the public's attention and established a cult status. Owing to Marko Brecelj, a former Buldožer member, who had approached them after a performance in Rijeka, Zoran Bulatović "Bale" (guitar), Slobodan Tišma (vocals), Ivan Fece "Firchie" (drums) and Jasmina Mitrušić "Mina" (keyboards, vocals) got the opportunity to release their debut album. However, their debut and only album Nestvarne stvari (Unreal Things) was released after the band disbanded. The album was critically well acclaimed and is considered one of the finest releases of the former Yugoslav rock scene.

Sweet Child O' Mine
Luna Lyrics

Reminds me of childhood memories
Where everything was as fresh
As the bright blue sky
Now and then when I see her face
She takes me away to that special place
And if I'd stare too long
I'd probably break down and cry
Sweet child o' mine
Woah, oh, oh, oh
Sweet love of mine
She's got eyes of the bluest skies
As if they thought of rain
I hate to look into those eyes
And see an ounce of pain
Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place
Where as a child I'd hide
And pray for the thunder
And the rain to quietly pass me by
Woah, oh, oh
Sweet child o' mine
Woah, oh, oh, oh
Sweet love of mine
Oh, oh, oh, yeah
Woah, oh, oh, oh
Sweet child o' mine
Woah, oh, oh, oh
Sweet love of mine
Woah, oh, oh, oh
Sweet child o' mine
Ooh, yeah, ooh, ooh, ooh
Sweet love of mine
Where do we go
Where do we go now
Where do we go
Where do we go
Where do we go, oh
Where do we go now
Where do we go
Sweet child
Where do we go now
Where do we go
Where do we go
Where do we go now
Where do we go
Where do we go now
Where do we go
Where do we go now
Where do we go
Where do we go now
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
Sweet child
Sweet child o' mine
The lyrics to the song Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns N' Roses speaks about a girl who has a smile that reminds the singer of his childhood memories, where everything was fresh and bright, and how her eyes are the bluest skies, but he hates to look into them and see any pain. He compares her hair to a warm and safe place where he used to hide and pray for the thunder and rain to pass him by. The girl takes him away to a special place every time he sees her face, and if he looks at her for too long, he might break down and cry. The song ends with the singer asking the question, "Where do we go now?" repeatedly, followed by "Sweet child o' mine."
The song is essentially a love song, but it talks more about the singer's affection for the girl in a nostalgic sense. The phrase "sweet child o' mine" is believed to have been inspired by one of Axl Rose's girlfriends at the time. The song has a slower tempo and is less hard rock compared to most of Guns N' Roses' other songs, but it is definitely one of their most popular tracks. The iconic guitar riff in the song is recognizable to many and has made the song a classic.

Been a diehard fan since Bewitched...saw them 20+ times through the years, the most of any band. Their album release posters are framed and adorn my music room. Have most of their vinyl autographed. As one person told me, I am a Luna freak. Still the best US indie band IMHO.
@deweypug
Here, the music finally matches the delicacy of the lyrics... Luna harness's sonic imagery to an entirely new level, especially live.

The first song I ever heard by Luna. Wafting through the late 90's air, rife with cigarette/pot smoke and Southern Comfort fumes.
