Forgive Me
Luna Jax Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Please believe me It was all a big mistake
Please forgive me Though it was more than you could take
I was so naïve, too blind to see
That you were reaching out for me Forgive me Please forgive me

Please don't tell me
You never needed anyone
Please just listen
I promise this can be undone
Because now I see how we should be
We better joined in unity
Forgive me Please forgive me

Oh I can tell you We're not better on our own
I've been there so many times And I wish I could have known
What I know now And I know now
That I need you And you need me
Oh I know now Yes I know now
That I need you And you need me

Please believe me It was just a big mistake
Please forgive me
Though it was more than you could take
But I'm not naïve, I can plainly see That something's there inside of me
Saying, "I need you like you need me"
We're better joined in unity
No I'm not naïve, I can plainly see
That something's there inside of me
Saying, "I need you like you need me"
We're better joined in unity
Let us break these bonds, set this friendship free

And we'll know how great it is to be
Together...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Luna Jax's song Forgive Me are heartfelt and sincere, as the singer asks for forgiveness and understands the mistakes made that led to a rift in a relationship. The song begins with an appeal to the listener to believe that the actions were not intentional, that they were a mistake, and a request to forgive, even if it may have been hard to do so. Luna Jax then reflects upon her own ignorance and naivety, admitting that she was unable to see the other person's need for love and attention. She then convinces the listener that they are better together and that this realization led to her asking for forgiveness.

The second part of the song is a plea to the listener to not deny the fact that they need each other to make the friendship work. Luna Jax acknowledges that she has been in such situations before, where she thought she didn't need anyone, only to find out later that she did. She recognizes the importance of having unity and asks the listener to embrace it, thereby breaking the bonds and setting their friendship free. The song ends with a declaration that being together is great and a wish to remain in this space.

In essence, the lyrics of Forgive Me are about taking responsibility for one's actions, acknowledging one's faults, and realizing the value of unity and togetherness. These themes are explored through raw emotions and honest reflections, making it a powerful and relatable ballad.

THIS IS BEAUTIFUL.

I don't want to know what's happening or why, but... First That's Just What I Need, now this? Taken together I can tell, these came from a place of pure heart. It's probably very hidden and I don't know if anyone else has realized it, but songs like this - so heartfelt, so above your average, with so much empathy in tone and voice, don't just "happen"... even if you, yourself don't necessarily realize what it all means. I don't know what's going on, I don't know why, and it would be unfair to expect you to tell me, but... I wish you luck with whatever it is, no matter how minor that may be. I can hear it, the passion in your voice, and I wish I had something better to day, but all I can truly offer is my comfort and praise.

Meh, it's probably just me overthinking again. You can't REALLY see a person's emotional state from a couple silly songs, right? Gah, I hate being so empathetic, it's always such an awkward experience - feeling the need to say something, anything, and hoping it helps... never truly knowing if it does. I don't know how to handle it half the time, and the other half I feel like I've only worsened the situation... And now, thinking that I've clearly misjudged the whole thing... ha, probably did.

Ah well, take care Jax, and I'm very sorry for the long awkwardness, especially if I'm dead wrong...
