practice
Luna Shadows Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Dead, missed all the attention
Should've checked your mentions
(They were saying nice things)
It might've consoled you
Red flags at every dead end
Didn't shock your best friends
(Still we found it frightening)
And we would've told you

That love is just practice
We'll keep working at it
(It's true, love)
Love is just practice
We'll keep working at
('Till we're blue love)

You were blue love
You were blue
You were blue love
You were blue

Dressed, washed up on the river
All of your forgivers
(They let you go lightly)
If only they'd shown you
But you just left
What about your brother?
Did he tell your mother?
(Did it hit her like lightening?)
But they would've told you

That love is just practice
We'll keep working at it
It's true, love
Love is just practice
We'll keep working at 'till we're blue love
Love is just practice
No permanent damage can ruin love
Love is just practice
We'll keep working at 'till we're blue love

You were blue love
You were blue
You were blue love
You were blue

Love is just practice
We'll keep working at it
It's true, love
Love is just practice
We'll keep working at 'till we're blue love

Love is just practice, we-
Love is just practice, we-
Love is just practice, we-
Love is just practice, we-
Love is just practice, we'll keep working at it, it's-

Love is just practice, we-
Love is just practice, we-

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Luna Shadows' song, "Practice" delve into the complexities of relationships and the notion that love is something that needs to be worked on continually. The opening lines, "Dead, missed all the attention, Should've checked your mentions" suggest that someone has died and the singer did not give them the attention they deserved. The following lines, "(They were saying nice things), It might've consoled you," seem to imply that this person may have been struggling and the kindness of others went overlooked. The chorus repeats the message that love is something that takes practice and that the singer intends to keep working at it, even when it becomes difficult.

The second verse mentions someone who has committed suicide, with the lines, "Dressed, washed up on the river, All of your forgivers." The chorus repeats the message that love is something that takes time and effort, no matter what happens. The final lines of the song, "Love is just practice, we'll keep working at it, it's true love" reinforce the message that love is a journey, not a destination.

Overall, "Practice" showcases the idea that love is something that needs to be worked on and cultivated over time. Whether it be through difficult times or moments of joy, love requires effort, patience, and understanding.

B : Captivating soundscape , as some of your past melodies that ミ enjoys .
E : The exploding light bulb effect on the right channel is delicious ! ◊

B : However , the film for it is somehow uninspired compared to the others .
E : Seeing you in few けんどう ( kendo ) poses and attire would have been more fit for the rhythm and movements .
B : Also a losing frames effect helps your moves .
E : Fast and wide movements are not for you .
B : A slower movement style suits you better .
E : You have to find your choreographic style , not just borrow from friends !
B : Try watching some あいきどう ( aikido ) , tai chi or qigong practice ! They`re the martial arts closest to dance .
E : And don`t step on the "crazy" bug ! Hope you didn`t . ミ likes those bugs for their funny behavior .

B : Your irises` color is inappropriate .
E : Try some yellow lenses !

E : Love ?! A practice ?! No . No . Nooo !
B : Don`t mistake passion for LOVE !
E : Yeah . Passion , obsession are the same demon to me .

B : In this Univers we can`t UNDO actions or thoughts . A stain will be a stain even after wash .
E : In a broken glass , though glued back , you`ll always see the cracks .
B : What can we do is COMPENSATE for mistakes and work for our extremely expensive RENEWAL .
E : Yes . You have to make worth the damage taken , as in きんつぎ ( kintsugi ) .

B+E : Good inspirations , until next !!!

BLU+EEN is always ミ .

In its simplest interpretation, "practice" is a song about communication or a lack thereof. This video explores several forms of communication - digital communication, artistic communication, and linguistic communication. The omnipresence of the phone explores our relationship to the digital world. The movement & locations symbolize how love is a discipline, much like tennis or baseball or ballet, all of which require constant attention and refinement. This song is also about giving & receiving help at a critical moment. For the last 30 seconds of the video, I asked my bilingual/international fans on social media to help me translate the song's lyrical looping message - I received over 100 submissions from from fans across the world, all of which are included in the video's final moments. I am so grateful to all the listeners around the globe who have helped me share this vital message.

Hi Luna!! I’ve been listening to Digital Pacific nonstop since I found it a few weeks ago! I’m curious, what is the significance of the color blue in this song? Is it the metaphor for looking at a blue screen?

Linel

I've loved all your songs. Wish to God you'd get on with a big-time producer or publisher. The world needs to hear you.
