In 2013 Lunic was the Grand Prize Winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest in the Electronic Category for her song, "War." In 2014 she was a semi-finalist in the rock category of the International Songwriting Competition for her song, "Magic Love-Hate Thing."
Page, born in upstate NY, attended university in Nashville, TN and moved to Los Angeles in 2003. Her experience as a performer began as an electric violinist and keyboard player in various LA-based pop/rock bands, most notably the Australian rock band Porcelain (Universal Records). Page began writing songs in early 2005 after seeing the British alt. rock band Muse perform live at Coachella Music Festival. In 2007 she relocated to London, and spent the next 7 years touring, traveling the world, writing new music, & studying Spanish, French, & German. Much of the inspiration for her writing is derived from her travels. To date she has visited 25 countries.
Her first release, in 2006, was a collection of piano-based alternative songs called The Uglylights (demos), written & recorded in California, followed quickly by the EP Splinter, recorded in London in just 3 days. They were followed up in 2009 by Lunic's first fan-funded album Lovethief, written & recorded in upstate NY. In 2012, she released Future Sex Drama, a full-length written & recorded in Germany & New York City, originally described as “sultry, ethereal synthpop” by Lunic herself. She has also released a plethora of digital singles on iTunes over the years: Beautiful, Dichotomy, Oh No Yoko!, Magic Love-Hate Thing, Far Away (Radio Edit), The Dark House (Elliot Tribal Remix).
On Future Sex Drama, Lunic begins taking her first steps as a producer, bringing together the experimentation behind her early work and a cutting edge pop aesthetic. A blend of dark ethereal synthpop and electronic rock similar to Metric, The xx, Lights or Ladytron, Future Sex Drama is, "Glossy enough for the dance floor but retaining that sinister edge." -CMJ. Each album tackles a different set of influences and styles. This approach has allowed the project to remain flexible and evolving.

Crash
Lunic Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You gonna pretend you can't hear it?
Or the flashing lights that keep you up all night
You gonna say you don't fear it?
You're gonna crash and burn unless you turn around
Just turn around!
Nothing makes sense anymore
Nothing makes any sense anymore
At least the pain makes you know you're alive
You're alive
Do you love yourself?
You're alive
How about the friends that run away, they can't stay
Cause if they do you'll run them over
On a path to destruction you defend your corruption
It keeps them from getting close to you
You're gonna crash and burn unless you turn around
Just turn around!
Nothing makes sense anymore
Nothing makes any sense anymore
But the pain makes you know you're alive
At least the pain makes you know you're alive
You're alive
But you're losing yourself
You're alive
The lyrics of Lunic's song "Crash" are an introspective observation of self-destructive behavior. The opening lines liken the sound of a siren to a warning that one needs to heed but may ignore. The flashing lights in the night are metaphorical reminders of one's impending self-inflicted destruction. The singer laments that nothing makes sense anymore, implying that they've lost perspective on their life. Despite this, the pain that comes with the path of destruction is what makes the individual feel alive, almost as if the chaos justifies their very existence.
The lyrics reveal that the singer's destructive nature is affecting their relationships, causing friends to abandon them. The singer is aware that their behavior is pushing others away, but they continue down the destructive path, defending their corrupt behavior. The line, "But you're losing yourself," implies that the individual realizes that their behavior is leading them down a dangerous path, and they're in danger of losing who they are. The chorus repeats the warning that the individual will crash and burn unless they turn around.
Overall, "Crash" is a dark, personal expression of the cost of self-destructive behavior. Despite the singer's awareness of their situation, they continue down the path they're on, seemingly unable to turn around.
