In 2013 Lunic was the Grand Prize Winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest in the Electronic Category for her song, "War." Page, born in upstate NY, attended university in Nashville, TN and moved to Los Angeles in 2003. Her experience as a performer began as an electric violinist and keyboard player in various LA-based pop/rock bands, most notably the Australian rock band Porcelain (Universal Records). Page began writing songs in early 2005 after seeing the British alt. rock band Muse perform live at Coachella Music Festival. In 2007 she relocated to London, and spent the next 7 years touring, traveling the world, writing new music, & studying Spanish, French, & German. Much of the inspiration for her writing is derived from her travels. To date she has visited 25 countries.
Her first release, in 2006, was a collection of piano-based alternative songs called The Uglylights (demos), written & recorded in California, followed quickly by the EP Splinter, recorded in London in just 3 days. They were followed up in 2009 by Lunic's first fan-funded album Lovethief, written & recorded in upstate NY. In 2012, she released Future Sex Drama, a full-length written & recorded in Germany & New York City, originally described as “sultry, ethereal synthpop” by Lunic herself. She has also released a plethora of digital singles on iTunes over the years: Beautiful, Dichotomy, Oh No Yoko!, Magic Love-Hate Thing, Far Away (Radio Edit), The Dark House (Elliot Tribal Remix).
On Future Sex Drama, Lunic begins taking her first steps as a producer, bringing together the experimentation behind her early work and a cutting edge pop aesthetic. A blend of dark ethereal synthpop and electronic rock similar to Metric, The xx, Lights or Ladytron, Future Sex Drama is, "Glossy enough for the dance floor but retaining that sinister edge." -CMJ. Each album tackles a different set of influences and styles. This approach has allowed the project to remain flexible and evolving.

The Little Room
Lunic Lyrics

Watching you pretend you don't love me like you used to
I can see the lies inside your eyes
I cry cause I can't forget all the things that we've been through
When the walls come crumbling down
Dust replaces the magic that we found
What if I told you that once I leave I let go?
Would you believe that I am stronger than you know?
The time we thought we had something special no one else had
Well I don't understand how something so good can turn out so bad
I know it hurts you even though you can't show it
I had to knock you down or I would have never known it
You wished it away now I can't stay
I hate the way you've made me hate you
I miss you
You couldn't "stay"
Why can't I move on?
In Lunic's song "The Little Room", the singer is expressing their pain and confusion over a past relationship that has gone south. The song is filled with vivid imagery that paints a picture of a small, enclosed space where the singer and their former partner spent time together. The singer is watching their partner pretend that they no longer love them, and they can see the lies in their partner's eyes. This realization causes the singer to cry as they remember the good times they shared and the struggles they overcame.
The lyrics also touch on the idea of moving on and letting go. The singer wonders what would happen if they were to leave and let go of their past with their partner. They believe that they are stronger than their partner may realize, but they still struggle with their own feelings towards the situation. The song ends with the singer expressing their sadness over the fact that something that was once so special between them and their partner has turned into something painful and difficult.
Overall, "The Little Room" by Lunic is a heartfelt and emotional exploration of the complexities of love and heartbreak. The imagery, vocals and instrumentation all come together to create a haunting and beautiful song that draws the listener into the singer's experience.
