With the release of Rumour, Lunik started as a trip-hop group and evolved (some say de-volved) to a more melodic pop outfit in the early 2000s.
Jaël became known in wider audiences after her appearance on Delerium's single "After All", taken from their 2003 album "Chimera" as well as Mich Gerber's single Your Remain in 2004.
In 2013, it was announced that the band would split up after releasing the album Encore, featuring some unreleased tracks and live versions. Jaël stated in an interview that the reason of the split was that "everything had been said (what the members wanted to express together)" and the band members "didn't have fun anymore" playing together.

So happy I am
I sing a song and you'll be amazed
And never miss it again
The same time it's a game
And I ll win because you don't see
That I'm playing with you
And melancolic's strange
It doesn't fit with all those others
Who love to imitate each other and
Sing of superficial happiness, lies
For you to understand
Just once I want to try
To lie
'N I promise I won't do it again
Just once I want to try
To lie
So here is my song for you
Because once I want to try
It needs a take off
To fly to the stars
To superficial paradise
So I do a take off
A take-off
The song "Try" by Lunik is a commentary on the pressure to be happy and conform to societal expectations. The first verse addresses someone who wants the singer to be happy, but the singer seems to suggest that this pressure to constantly be happy can be disingenuous. The line "And I ll win because you don't see/ That I'm playing with you" implies that the singer may be pretending to be happy to please someone else. The second verse explores the idea that being pensive and melancholic is seen as strange in a culture that values superficial happiness and conformity. The chorus, "Just once I want to try/ To lie," suggests that the singer wants to experiment with being untruthful to see if it results in a superficial form of happiness. However, the line "I promise I won't do it again" indicates that the singer ultimately understands the value of authenticity over superficiality.
The bridge, "It needs a take off/ To fly to the stars/ To superficial paradise/ So I do a take off/ A take-off," is particularly interesting because it seems to suggest that the pressure to conform to societal expectations requires a certain façade or performance in order to reach a "superficial paradise." The repeated "take off" may symbolize the repeated effort it takes to put on this performance over and over again. The song ultimately seems to argue that happiness at the cost of authenticity isn't true happiness.

A take-off
A new start, a change in behavior
