Jay, Lupe!
Yeah
And so it seems that I'm, sewing jeans
And, 1st and 15 is just a sewing machine
So I, cut the pattern and I, sew in seams
And, button in this hustling then publicly I'm Buddy Lee
Ushering in the regime, they want me to make Prince pants
But I withstand, I ain't gotten into that
A little big in the waist, Tupac it on the back
Call them Nu-vi's, O.G.'s covered in blue dye
Give 'em the game, that's like giving chocolate to the fat
Look, how you think I got here?
That's the same game that came through where I lived as a kid
In the bad luck truck and threw boxes off the back
Made me a ripper, deliver like river
Content a little more thicker, slicker
Yeah, and they said oil and water don't mix
Now they all down at the beach washing off the fish
Was Blackbeard 'til I brought the Roc into your ships
Yeah!
It's my life, my life, everything I do I do for you
I do it all for you, everything I say you know it's the truth
I'll say it is the truth, I'll take all the pressure off of you
Take pressure off of you, I'll take, the pressure off of you
Yeah!
Uh, it's hella proper (proper)
'Cause it sag so low you can see boxer, like a boxer's
That's the way that the Family's pants worn
Then we slide, and try and put 'em on
The stones in the pocket'll drag you down to Davy Jones locker
Beware if you wanna Roc the Knickerbocker
Other nigga from the block what, they was selling O's
Like Wheel of Fortune, of imported cocaine
Just to feel important, it was Do or Die
They was tired of being "Po' Pimps," now for sure
That was just a product of my common sense
I guess, I was just guessing like the consonants
Momma said beware of what the devil do
Tell 'em that your soul's not for sale like the W's
So go ahead and pirate, the highest
Cannons make you leak like pirated my shh
It's no shh, it's just shh like quiet
And big homey's out of retirement
It's my life, my life, everything I do I do for you
I do it all for you, everything I say you know it's the truth
I'll say it is the truth, I'll take all the pressure off of you
Take pressure off of you, I'll take, the pressure off of you
Uh, Young, uh
So the pen is mightier than the sword my lord
My first picture was a line-up, now I'm on the Forbes
And I still remain the artiste through thees all
If you force my hand I'll be forced to "draw"
If the war calls for war halls
Hope you got enough space on your hall's walls
I make niggas murals, then escape the bureau's
Investigation, out in Europe on vacation
I'm back for these puppies with the pound boy
(Blaow) Here's a round boy (blaow blaow) down boy
Sound boy, you don't wanna sound clash loud noise
Leave niggas paranoid if not paralyzed
Which means you can't walk in my shoes
Too much green you can't talk in my hue
Extend the team, nigga holla at Lu'
1st and 15th, that's my cue, I'm through
It's my life, my life, everything I do I do for you
I do it all for you, everything I say you know it's the truth
I'll say it is the truth, I'll take all the pressure off of you
Take pressure off of you, I'll take, the pressure off of you
In "Pressure" by Lupe Fiasco, he speaks to the pressures and challenges that come with being an artist in the music industry. He compares his job to that of a seamstress, sewing together different parts to create a cohesive product, but is more interested in creating something that is truly his own, rather than working to create something according to someone else's desires.
He also talks about the dangers of being caught up in the drug trade, a common theme in hip-hop music, and how he was able to avoid falling into that trap by being smart and cautious. His lyrics touch on the idea that there are many ways to make it in life, and that one should always be mindful of the choices they make and the paths they take.
Overall, the lyrics of "Pressure" speak to the challenges and difficult decisions one must make in pursuing a career in the music industry. It's about maintaining one's integrity and pursuing one's own vision, even in the face of pressure and adversity.

I remember back in 08 Lupe used to get all the admiration that Kendrick now gets
@imperialstats
Real hip hop heads know the truth the mainstream ain't never been the landscape for authentic rap or hip-hop it only shows up.there slightly from time to time
@cafenightster4548
@@imperialstats It's usually watered down by labels. There are truly good rappers that were forced to go mainstream to keep their label happy. If the label ain't happy, theyre not going to push the album and prematurely end the contract. Lupe has always had a bad relationship with his label, Kendrick is an ok rapper, definitely better than most, but I'm not really into him.
@imperialstats
@@cafenightster4548 i feel u bro i like kendrick but he's a bit overrated but then he has real dope songs like rigamortis and high power and blacker the berry but then he has sounds like yah and lust which i think are terrible but ppl praise every thing he does likes all dope

Facts
@dnt6604
Foh sure we got to blame Atlantic
@hakeem215
Jay-Z didn't slouch on this, but Lupe's wordplay is on a whole different level. The sewing genes/jeans play in the first verse..... Sheesh
@WalterBrady
Great insight. He also continue that theme of jeans in his other verse! Crazy lyricism by Lu
@jkhrist4
@@WalterBrady lupe killed it with the first and followed thru in the 2nd. But I put it 50/ 50 between the 2. You gotta think jay didn't havve a second.but I respect both artists. Lupe has a body of work that's hard to follow. You can really see his admiration of Nas in his wordplay and songs he has made over the years. Lupe is.a slept on gem in hip hop.

Give this producer his flowers.And whoever sings the hook.
