If You Wait On The Lord
Luther Barnes Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
If you wait on the Lord everything will be all right
It doesn't matter what the problem may be
Just turn it over to the Lord and you'll see
Everything will be all right. Everything will be all right.
Everything will be all right if you just wait on the Lord (repeat)
You can't hurry God. No, no you've got to wait on Him
'Cause He may not come when you want Him
But He is always on time, oh yes He is
You don't ever have to worry
God will be there to fix it for you
Just keep the faith and never, never give up
'Cause He's going to see you through
Chorus:
Vamp:
Wait on Jesus. Wait on the Lord
Wait on Jesus. Wait on the Lord
Wait on Jesus. Wait on the Lord
Wait on Jesus. You just wait on Jesus
On Jesus, On Jesus, On Jesus
You just wait on Jesus, On Jesus, On Jesus
You got to, you got to, you got to, you got to wait on Jesus
On Jesus, on Jesus, You got to, you got to, you got to,
you got to wait!
The song "If You Wait On The Lord" by Luther Barnes is a powerful gospel song about the importance of patience and faith in God. The chorus emphasizes the central message of the song: that if we trust in God and wait patiently for His timing, everything will be all right. The verse reminds us that we can't rush God or demand that He act on our own schedule. Instead, we must have faith that He is always on time, even if it doesn't feel that way to us. We should trust that God will be there to help us and fix our problems, no matter what they are.

I like the song and we are going to practice it on tomorrow night for Sunday service. However, I cannot send a copy to the choir. So I quess we will have to go on the lead singer remembrance.
