Lynch/Pilson is a collaboration between one-time Dokken members: guitarist George Lynch and bassist/vocalist Jeff Pilson, who, after nearly two decades working together in one capacity or another, drafted drummer Michael Frowein for their first collaboration under this moniker, 2003's Wicked Underground.
Goodbye Utopia
Lynch Pilson Lyrics

See the headlines read the news, the world has changed
Goodbye Utopia
Goodbye the dream
So much for promises
And throw away the key
Then you hear about the way they fell from grace
It's leading me to somewhere now
It's all the same to me
Goodbye Utopia
Goodbye the dream
So much for promises
And throw away the key
State of war remain so constant, take the battle to the streets
A war of words, a war of race- living in a world of greed
A golden child that lost its color
The tragedy is too intense
A life of just a silent dream
That all gets laid to violent rest
Goodbye Utopia
Goodbye Utopia
Goodbye Utopia
And throw away the key
All the same to me
All the same to me
Lynch Pilson's song Goodbye Utopia provides a grim perspective on the state of the world, particularly focusing on the ways in which public figures and politicians continually disappoint us by failing to deliver on their promises. The first verse sets the scene, describing how children are forced to run from their everyday lives, seemingly in search of something better, but finding only desperation. The second verse references the ways in which people voice their desire for change, but are inevitably disillusioned by their leaders.
The chorus of the song speaks to this disillusionment, as the singer bids farewell to any sense of utopia, any chance for a perfect world, acknowledging that promises have been broken and the key to change has been thrown away. The third verse references the state of war and constant conflict that is present in today's society. The lyrics describe the struggle for power, whether it's about race, politics or greed, and the tragedy of a generation that has lost its way. The final verse speaks to the silence and emptiness that accompanies these losses, how dreams are shattered and all that's left is a violent final rest.
Overall, the theme of Goodbye Utopia can be summed up in the phrase, "life is hard," and Lynch Pilson drives this point home with powerful lyrics and heavy rock accompaniment.

I was hooked ever since under lock and key...just got better dokken was underrated, pilson, lynch mob etc. In my estimation george is every bit as good if not better than Eddie. George's playing is very unorthodox. But sounds awesome.!!!!!
