Libera me domine de morte
The lyrics of "Libera Me" by Lynne Dawson and The BBC Singers are written in Latin and express a prayer for liberation from death. The opening lines "De profundis clamavi ad te Domine" translate to "Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord" and are a reference to Psalm 130. The repetition of this phrase throughout the song emphasizes the desperation of the singer's plea. The third verse asks if the Lord is the friend that cannot be seen or the one who cares for the singer, suggesting a personal connection with the divine. The final plea in the last verse is for the Lord to set the singer free from death, with the repetition of "Libera" ("Free") forming a powerful plea for deliverance.

Libera me, Domine, de morte aeterna,
in die illa tremenda:
quando caeli movendi sunt et terra;
dum veneris iudicare saeculum per ignem.
Tremens factus sum ego, et timeo,
dum discussio venerit, atque ventura ira.
Dies illa, dies irae, calamitatis et miseriae,
Dies illa, dies magna et amara valde.
Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine,
et lux perpetua luceat eis.
or in English
Deliver me, Lord, from eternal death,
on that terrible day:
when the heavens and earth will be shaken;
when you will come to judge the age with fire.
I am made to tremble, and I am afraid,
since trial and anger are coming.
That day, a day of anger, disaster and sorrow,
That day, a mighty day, and one exceedingly bitter.
Give them eternal rest, Lord,
and may light perpetual shine upon them

The most moving piece of music I've ever heard in my life. It reduced me to tears for years after Diana left us.

Encore sur la terre, le passage au Ciel .... partis tout le mal, toute la méchanceté du monde, toutes les larmes, .... me voici Père, j'ai combattu le bon combat et je suis ton enfant.

Stunningly beautiful. Rest In Peace precious Diana.
@marijusmit
It is final part of G. Verdi's "Messa da Requeim" and it was actually performed during princess Diana's funeral at the Westminster Abbey. It was performed by soprano Lynne Dawson.
@charleneki
I shall never forget hearing this at Diana's funeral. It felt like being suspended between heaven and earth. See also tribecatom's video of Dawson and the singers singing this at at the funeral. It was a transcendent experience.
@Alex-rq2lo
Wait in Diana’s actual funeral this piece played?
@rixiusshade4867
There is a match perfectly about the funeral with this interesting requiem.
