Formed in 1998, they are from Brasilia, DF, Brazil. Every member brings their own influences to the band, this is made evident in their mix of rock and ska influenced by all sorts of world music: from Brazilian samba and bossa nova to rhythms of lots of other countries. Their live performances are very energetic. It's common at the end of a show for all band members to go down to the middle of the crowd during the performance of their hit Copacabana. Their music is self-intitled, in cuisine terms, "Bulgarian Feijoada" for their variety of influences. In 2016, the band announced that they would take an indefinite hiatus.

Sado-masô
Móveis Coloniais de Acaju Lyrics

Lhe propõe
Certas agonias
Melhor se prevenir
Sadomasoquista
Todos procuram
Alguém pra brincar
Todos procuram
Mas não vão encontrar
Tout le monde cherche
Quelqu´un pour jouer avec
Tout le monde cherche
Et ne le va pas rencontrer
Sadô-masô
É isso que eu sou
Sadô-masô
É minha voca
São seis horas da manhã
E não consigo dormir
Tentando reordenar
As tarefas que eu nunca
Precisarei desempenhar
No exercício monótono
Monotemático
Monoteísta
Da minha vida
Eu sou mesmo um sadomasoquista
The lyrics of Sadô-masô by Móveis Coloniais de Acaju suggest that life often brings us certain agonies, which we may find difficult to cope with. The singer advises that it is better to be prepared for such situations and not to become a sadomasochist. However, the lyrics suggests that everyone is looking for someone to play with but will not find them.
The last paragraph of lyrics suggests that the singer is a sadomasochist and finding it difficult to sleep at six in the morning. They are trying to reorder their life's tasks that will never be performed, which have become monotonous, monotematic, monoteísta. Hence, the singer admits to being a sadomasochist.
