Formed in 1998, they are from Brasilia, DF, Brazil. Every member brings their own influences to the band, this is made evident in their mix of rock and ska influenced by all sorts of world music: from Brazilian samba and bossa nova to rhythms of lots of other countries. Their live performances are very energetic. It's common at the end of a show for all band members to go down to the middle of the crowd during the performance of their hit Copacabana. Their music is self-intitled, in cuisine terms, "Bulgarian Feijoada" for their variety of influences. In 2016, the band announced that they would take an indefinite hiatus.

Sem Palavras
Móveis Coloniais de Acaju Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Mas acabei dizendo sem querer
Palavra bandida!
Sempre arruma um jeito de escapar (hum!)
Seria tudo muito melhor
Se a música falasse por si só
Dá raiva da vida
Penso, tento
Achar palavras pro meu sentimento
Tanto é pouco, nada diz
Não é triste, nem feliz
Mesmo sendo
Um pranto, um choro ou qualquer lamento
Nada importa, tanto faz
Se é pra sempre ou nunca mais
Pensei em mil palavras, e enfim
Nenhuma das palavras coube em mim
Não vejo saída
Como vou dizer sem me calar?
Diria mudo tudo o que faz
Minha vida andar de frente para trás
Uma frase perdida
Num discurso feito de olhar
Penso, tento
Achar palavras pro meu sentimento
Tanto é pouco, nada diz
Não é triste, nem feliz
Mesmo sendo
Um pranto, um choro ou qualquer lamento
Nada importa, tanto faz
Se é pra sempre ou nunca mais
Não é medo, nem é riso
Não é raso, não é pouco, nem é oco
Não é fato, nem é mito
Não é raro, não é tolo, não é louco
Não é isso, não é oco
Não é fraco, não é dito, não é morto
Não, não, não, não
Eu sei que nada tenho a dizer
Pensei em mil palavras, e enfim
Seria tudo muito melhor
Pensei
Seria
Se um dia alguém puder me entender
The lyrics to Móveis Coloniais de Acaju's song "Sem Palavras" reflect the idea that sometimes words cannot fully capture or convey our emotions and feelings. The singer realizes they have nothing to say, yet they inadvertently end up uttering hurtful words that escape them. They express frustration with how everything in life requires classification and labeling, and how sometimes it would be better if the music could just speak for itself. The singer struggles to find words to express their emotions and feelings, as words are often inadequate and don't fully capture the depth of their feelings. They feel stuck and can't find a way to express themselves without being silenced.
The song captures the idea of the limitations of language and the struggle we face to fully communicate our emotions and feelings. Rather than speech, the singer suggests that music can be a powerful means of expression that transcends language and classification. The repetition of the lines "Penso, tento" emphasizes the singer's attempt to find words to express themselves, despite the limitations of language.

Sobre esta música: "A gente já tinha gravado essa música no estúdio da Trama, em 2007. A nova gravação tem beat diferente, e principalmente, linhas diferentes de guitarra. Uma das minhas preferidas. Acho a interpretação do André bem doída e bem boa!"
