Saints Of Los Angeles
Mötley Crüe Lyrics
Tonight, there's gonna be a fight
So if you need a place to go
Got two room slum, a mattress and a gun
And the cops don't never show
So come right in 'cause everybody sins
Welcome to the scene of the crime
You want it? Believe it? We got it if you need it
The devil is a friend of mine
Just wait until we're going down in flames
We are, we are the saints, we signed our life away
Doesn't matter what you think, we're gonna do it anyway
We are, we are the saints, one day you will confess
And pray to the saints of Los Angeles
Red line tripping on a land mine, sipping at the Troubadour
Girls passed out naked in the back lounge, everybody's gonna score
She's all jacked up, she's down on her luck
You want it, you need it, the devils gonna feed it
Don't you say, it's crazy, you don't know a thing
Just wait until we're going down in flames
We are, we are the saints, we signed our life away
Doesn't matter what you think, we're gonna do it anyway
We are, we are the saints, one day you will confess
And pray to the saints of Los Angeles
Give it up, give it up
Give it up, give it up
Give it up, give it up
Give it up, give it up
We are, we are the saints, we signed our life away
Doesn't matter what you think, we're gonna do it anyway
We are, we are the saints, one day you will confess
And pray to the saints of Los Angeles

A video for the single was premiered at a press conference by the band on April 15. Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach), Josh Todd (Buckcherry), Chris Brown (Trapt), Marion Raven and James Michael (Sixx A.M.) all make cameos at the end of the video.
According to guitarist Mick Mars, the song: "is about us signing our record deal with Elektra Records and it’s kinda' like, the words, “It doesn’t matter what you say/I’m gonna do it anyway.” It’s one of those kinds of things and it’s about that; about the signing of our first record contract.
The song was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance, but lost to The Mars Volta's "Wax Simulacra". Previous nominations occurred in the same category for the songs Dr. Feelgood and Kickstart My Heart, but they lost both times to Living Colour.
In the original Gang Vocal version, found on the album, the lyrics from the Lords Prayer can be heard at the beginning of the song.

@kate Actually, they will be in the HOF (not that it matters bc the HOF is a joke), but deserve to be.
Many of the artists that go in also have little respect for the HOF, same as Sixx, but they go in anyway.
Your original point was problematic bc you claimed falsely that they would not go in bc they did too many “stupid things.” I proved that that’s not the case as w many of the inductees who have done “stupid things.” I asked for a link to your claim. Your response?- Google it somewhere 🤣.
So, two things:
1) Prove your claim
2) Motley Crüe will be in at some point soon and your posts will still exist on this thread as a reminder to future readers that false claims can say a lot about someone who stands/barks on a shakey premises, and, that facts do indeed matter.
What say you? 🙃

@kate 😳
As I stated in a previous post: For anyone who thought of saying that Motley Crue isn't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because of excessive drug use and "bad" behavior, seriously? It's the R&RHOF filled with over-the-top drug takin' musicians ;).
Here is the criteria: The Hall of Fame states that “besides demonstrating unquestionable musical excellence and talent, inductees will have had a significant impact on the development, evolution and preservation of rock 'n' roll.”
Here are just some of the people that are already in the R&RHOF : Nirvana/Curt Cobain (heroin), James Brown (domestic violence and drugs), Jerry Lee Lewis (Drugs, 13 yr old cousin/wife), The Mamas and the Papas (drugs/ dude had sex with his daughter), Hendrix (drugs), Elvis (drugs), The Beatles (drugs), Zeppelin (drugs, wild behavior, Page's cult stuff) etc.
I'm willing to bet that Motley Crue had WAY more people wearing their Tees and back patches than Randy Newman (inducted in 2013).
So, again, why isn't Motley Crue in the R&RHOF?
Also, where's the following:
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
Motorhead
Ozzy (solo)
(Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax)
Pantera
Also, Dick Dale (influence the birth/fame of THREE genre's of rock (Surf, Punk, Metal),
&,
Link Wray (first to become famous for creating fuzzy/distorted guitar -poked holes in speaker with a pencil).

The SOLA album was great. I still remember being a lifelong Motley fan buying the C.D first day SOLA was released in 2008 and on my lunch break @ work driving to buy it. Popped it in on the ride home, stuck on the freeway, and honestly (I'm a realist) not expecting a masterpiece but new Crue music! So the intro was cool, and then Face Down in the Dirt kicked in and WOW! it sounded amazing!
This had soooo many great tracks on it, If this is their last I say Thank you. Stand out tracks...
-Face down in the Dirt
-Saints of L.A
-MF of the Year
-The Animal in Me
-Just another Psycho
-White Trash Circus
-Goin' out Swingin'

The Dirt should have been a series because there is WAY too much Crue history that was left out of the film.

@kate Ah, so it's not easy, so that means I as a consumer should settle for a shitty product, right? Or just go do it myself, without any experience in it?
First thing the fucking greedy sellout morons did wrong was hire a jackass director instead of an ACTUAL director. What a ridiculous idea
Next time you buy food from your local supermarket, and it's not very nice, just remember it's not easy, so do it yourself. Tool
kate
@w0bbl3r tbh since u know so much u should just go direct the show. it’s not easy to do and yes they left out lots of important details but the movie was still great. if you want all the details just buy the book

I know that this is out of the way, from left field, off the subject, or whatever, but am I the only person alive who thinks that Motley's self-titled 1994 album was not just good, but was GREAT?!!! And it was! It was an excellent rock record, and everyone played their tails off on it!
