Thank you for replying everyone. I turned 50& gaining weight & every wrinkle & gray hair popped out in thousands. I have to figure out how to get a zoom for my uncle's memorial coming up. Just had one for my grandma a month ago. Takes time to gather pics & get everyone together. My uncle passed unexpectedly, got out of his truck & collapsed & gone just like that.

@Daniel Z self care is extremely important. Yes: but genetics 🧬 , autoimmune disorders, etc. but indeed definitely the genetics role is a big uncontrollable factor in one’s appearance. (If “unaltered,” which the narrator seemed to have a negative opinion on overall.)
I’m all for it, (cosmetic procedures- no matter the intensity, outpatient to full anesthesia alterations: I’ve partaken. And my self esteem and overall life changed as that one unalterable part of myself was then changed - enhanced- (breast augmentation) I feel more proportional & more feminine, and thus my self esteem was drastically boosted for it. (though indeed I was born & still identify as female.) im all for cosmetic procedures if the person receiving the cosmetic procedures is the one who truly desires it.
However, I unfortunately can speak to the autoimmune situation, as, I myself, after my MD ran a suspicious test regarding my thyroid, discovered that I also suffer from hypothyroidism and so I’m also a big advocate for getting Regular health & wellness checkups as well as and diet/exercise, SPF. Everyone is so different. And so much is out of our control. (It turns out: many of my father’s late family members had the same thyroid defect as I. It is managed today with a common medication. And as far as the cosmetic procedure: I was & am VERY blessed that I had the money & access to even receive it in the first place. So: socio-economics also, sadly, play a big role in how we age, or appear as we do so. It’s not always just those factors we CAN control. I respect & understand your argument, please understand. 🙏

A person who spends a lot of time in the sun is gonna have have more wrinkling, sagging skin than if they if they would've protected their skin. Just an example of how factors play a role in the aging process. There are lots of ways you can preserve your youthful appearance as you get older. You don't HAVE to look old because your older, and you definitely don't have to look older than your age if you just properly take care of yourself.

Sean Astin is awesome!! I've been a fan of his ever since "The Goonies". He's been in many other great movies, including "Toy Soldiers", "Rudy", "Memphis Belle", "Encino Man" (such a cool, funny movie),, "Staying Together", and of course, "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, etc. I absolutely love the movie "Rudy" ... One of the best movies ever in my opinion.

I think Danny Bonaduce aged quite well. In fact, the majority of these folks look just fine, even though they may have gotten older and put on a few pounds which is a natural part of aging. To say they're unattractive just because of that is pretty shallow.

I'm saying one who is fighting for body positivity should keep a significant and well identified gap between 'obese people should be treated with equal dignity' and not promoting obesity. Don't mix them or else body positivity takes a hit bcuz you are promoting obesity.

Being plus sized i.e someone having more than medium weight is not always unhealthy. An obese body type is always unhealthy

Shaming on a person's body type is wrong on every level and that should be eradicated. But trying to do that by promoting obesity is as bad or worse.

Hence I said overweight people should be ashamed bcuz of the steps they are taking towards dealing with bad behaviour.

Maybe I over generalized a bit but I was referring to those obese models and obese people manufacturing pity on talk shows

They fail to mention that Sean Astin was in Lord of the Rings, and had to gain weight to play his role in the movie. They don't mention the movie, but show him after he gained weight for the movie, which he eventually lost.

as someone who has no problem judging people's looks nor care how my looks are judged, macaulay culkin, taran noah smith, josh saviano, and mara wilson aged just fine. i know a few actors/actresses who should have made this list instead of them

There's nothing wrong with Sean Astin I think he looks fine. And I find it insulting that this guy didn't mention that Sean Astin was also Samwise Gamgee in Lord of the rings trilogy, which was just as big a role as The Goonies.

I love how you say “aged badly” or “aren’t as cute” and “overweight”. They just got older if course they aren’t cute like they had been as little kids, and those people aren’t “overweight” they are average size, of course people expect actors to be really scrawny, skinny, and underweight because you think they live by different rules then us because they ACT
