Storm
M.F.D. Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I refuse to let power go
Concocting seven steps
To stay
And never let the people know
Betray my allies
Rile the masses
Say I'll meet them at the steps
Pay attention patriots
Now is the time
To all the cowards
That follow me blind
Manipulating
Calling to action
Bringing all the rage
Boiling over
In their minds
Consuming lies
Fueled by their hatred
Empty promises were made
To bring them to the brink of madness
On this devastating day
Hearing promise from their leader
Beckoning to heed his call
They stole it from me
Count again
Everyone knows that can't be all
They're all against me
It's conspiracy
How dare they try to get rid of me
Faking numbers
Missing counts
I know they're trying to throw me out
Leaving home
For futile venture
Convinced that their will is fair
You see the masses fast approaching
Oh my god
They're everywhere
Clowns in a circle
Gathering
In the cold
Clowns in a circle
Mustering their extreme courage
Clowns in a circle
Fighting like hell
Clowns in a circle
Surging into the halls
Clowns in a circle
Demanding false truth
Clowns in a circle
Coming for blood
Clowns in a circle
Trading one dumb mongrel for another
The lyrics of M.F.D.'s song "Storm" describe a leader who is determined to maintain power at all costs, even if it means betraying allies and manipulating the masses. The leader concocts seven steps to stay in power and never let the people know, and calls for a revolution that will bring all the rage and boil over in their minds. This manipulation eventually culminates in a violent confrontation, as the masses fast approach and demand false truth.
The lyrics reflect on the idea of the misuse of power and the manipulation of people for personal gain. The leader portrayed in the song is willing to do whatever it takes to maintain his own power, even if it means betraying those who once supported him. The lyrics also suggest the potential consequences of such actions, including the risk of violent uprising when people feel manipulated or cheated.
Overall, the song "Storm" offers a warning about the dangers of unchecked power and the importance of transparency and honesty in a democracy. It underscores the necessity of leaders to prioritize the interests of the people they represent, rather than their own self-interests and ambitions.

Are you sure this is not ghosting strobe flashes from the strobes behind your WX-500 receiver antenna? It's showing behind your aircraft depiction.

@Michael David Robinson Keep me posted on your progress. I think with the skin mapping tool you’ll be able to find a location of where to mount the antenna for the StormScope. Most of the ones I have seen installed are on the bottom and back of the fuselage. You will need to be careful on placement near com antennas as well. They will trigger it if you transmit and they are too close.
I think many avionics shops probably have limited experience with spheric detection devices. And many of the early versions of these devices were challenging to use. I flew behind a WX-8 for 21 years. Between the radial spread and the limited intensity determination, the best I could hope for was a “don’t fly in that general direction”. The WX-500’s ability to discriminate between cell and strikes was a game changer for me. Add in a much more accurate range determination, it opened up better decision making paths for dealing with storms. Especially those summer building storms. Using FIS-B with the StormScope is the best you can hope for short of having active radar onboard.

@Marauder92V Yes I found a tested and in good condition WXSM Skinmpaper a few days ago from a retiring Avionics fellow and it works very well. Tested it myself as well. It is a 56TC Baron with different engines than original. Talkedmwith Whelen yesterday and it was a A612C for the wing tip style lens. And they said most of the red strobe lens they sell already have the shielding coating and can be seen by a purple hue or sheen. The clear A612C also has that purplish sheen. Can't wait to try it out after finishing getting airplane back to that state here at 3J6.

@Michael David Robinson I don’t recall what model airplane you own. The type of RF shielded lens you will need can be found on the WAT site: https://flywat.com/products/a610-a612-series-strobe-tube-asemblies. The LED version of the belly mounted strobe on my Mooney solid red. I think they sell one with a white and red combo: https://youtu.be/J8OAJI62w2g
When the installer does the WX-500 install, they should do a skin mapping to look for interference. This should be the first line of defense to make sure the antennae is not mounted too close to a source of interference. In my case, the installer never turned on the belly strobe and it caused an issue. Just make sure the installer knows about the skin mapping and that they do the location checks with all your lights on.
As for the shielded wire. Yes, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to use shielded wiring to the strobe. The big issue with wing mounted strobes isn’t the power getting to the strobe power pack, it is the high voltage that leaves the power pack and energizes the strobes. Again, I think if the installer is knowledgeable able the interference, they should be able to avoid the ghosting issue. Good luck.

@Marauder92V Double checking with you again. I appreciate your thoughts. You said purchasing the A612C Whelen shielded lens is all that was needed to clear the ghosting? Although I am getting the WX-500, I read about ghosting in the Insight instructions and as well as the shielded lens, there was also mentioned an A263 inline filter for the strobe cables. I have two Whelen power supplies, and one power supply is for the top and bottom red lenses that are already shielded suppoedly. So I only need the shielded A612C lenses for the 3 each strobes that are on the tips and tail white strobes. I think I am not going for LED's for now with doing so much other work. So just the lenses were needed? So with the LED strobes do they use the same clear shielded lenses or do the LED strobes come with something else? I am on the lookout for some shielded ones on eBay.

@Marauder92V Thank you for your thoughts. That is good explanation on the actuality of using the ipad or other MFD screen.
