Diplo (born Wesley Pentz, also variably known as Diplodocus, Wes Gully, and Wes Diplo) is a Philadelphia-based DJ and producer. Together with DJ Low Budget, he runs Hollertronix, a club and music collective. Among other jobs, Pentz worked as a school teacher in his native Philadelphia. M.I.A./Diplo Lyrics

Open the dark room, we'll drown, drink a bottle of you
Although they hurt
They won't help
Now that we're calm, we can't wait to push back with this front of will
Put it up, make that stand
Self-assured he don't know the deal
But you know your eyes won't lie for you
But you know your eyes won't lie for you
And you know it's time your lips knew what to do
The lyrics to M.I.A./Diplo's "Bingo" are open to interpretation, but they seem to suggest a sense of confinement and rebellion. The singer seems to be holed up in a ward, possibly a rehab facility, where they don't need to walk out because they're trying to escape their addiction. They refer to a dark room and the idea of drowning, which could imply a sense of overwhelm or despair. However, they also talk about drinking a bottle of "you," which could suggest the idea of consuming oneself or one's own emotions.
The second stanza suggests a sense of defiance and confidence. The singer says that although "they" hurt, they won't help, and now that they're calm, they're ready to push back with a front of will. They urge the listener to "put it up, make that stand" and suggest that someone else, described as "self-assured," doesn't know the deal. The final lines repeat the refrain from the first stanza, saying that the listener's eyes won't lie and it's time for their lips to know what to do. This could mean that the singer is urging the listener to be honest with themselves and take action.
Some possible interpretations of these lyrics could include issues of addiction, mental health, or oppression. The idea of being confined in a ward could suggest a struggle with addiction or mental illness and the need to escape. The sense of rebellion and confidence could suggest a fight against societal expectations or oppression. Overall, the lyrics of "Bingo" seem to suggest a sense of struggle and resistance against difficult circumstances.

MiA is amazing, she is very much into consciousness and in tune with political and human rights issues. Plus she beautiful and makes HiTs... Original: Better than GAGA hands down. But of course like many other brilliant artist who refuse to sell out she is not appreciated enough.

I remember when she came to Montreal and saw her at the Metropolis in 2005 and fell in love with her then. She's AMAZING. She makes me feel like a kid again. I was quite surprised at how popular she got with "Paper Planes" because she was more underground but I'm really happy that people are noticing her awesomeness besides me!
