I just saw the first 5 episodes. WOW.
My expectations were succeeded in almost EVERY aspect. The cast of players, the host, the intellectual missions, the cinematography. I did not expect it to be good, to be honest. But now, I cannot wait for next week already 🙂 Well done

I was surprised netflix tried the concept. I remember seeing the US version years ago and it was so bad compared to the Dutch (longest running) and Belgian (original) version. Netflix does seem to understand the concept better judging by this trailer.

If you really love it, maybe the Belgian or Dutch version is somewhere with subtitles. I really love the score and cinemathography of the Dutch one, but since the Belgium one is the original, it has a special place in my heart!

This show is PHENOMENAL! 🙂
The first two US seasons hosted by Anderson Cooper were incredible. This is the original “Among Us” that came out in the early 2000’s. I was also a huge fan of the UK and Australia seasons, and am happy the Netherlands is still continuing this show. Can’t wait for this revival!

Edit - This season has exceeded my expectations and I'm SO happy to have The Mole back <3 Hope we get many more seasons! I stand by my original suggestions for improvement (especially on the release schedule) but I think the casting for this season was well done now having watched it.

Still excited for my favourite show of all time to come back, but the cast all being young influencers throws the vibe off, part of what made the original series good was that it was a bunch of regular people from across age groups (probably the best Mole was Bill, who was almost 60). And the decision to release it all over three weeks is weird, it should be week to week. But regardless... WE'RE BACK BABY! :D

and lol at the kids saying "this is just like Among Us" hahahaha

@casperthegm The reboot has exceeded my expectations! I'm glad I kinda thought it wasn't going to be good lol. Still hope that in future seasons (please, Netflix!!!) there is more age diversity and it's released one episode per week, and they lean more into the sort of upscale spy feel of the original seasons, but this cast is really quite good and I'm thrilled to have the show back <3

i was soooooooo sure joi was the mole from the beginning… was watching her manipulate the whole thing in every episode and i was so confused as to why nobody voted her out i was literally counting on it. her actions were so random to me and her whole demeanor was pretty static too so that also threw me off, the actual mole honestly really shocked me

I'm a huge fan of the original and I watch the Dutch version with English subtitles, so I am excited for this. But I will say that this version seems to have a different vibe. Hopefully it remains true to its original form, which combined intelligence with mystery and humor.

I watched season 1 in one setting !!! The challenges and plots are movie worthy, the contestants are awesome, smart and genuinely funny, the visuals are beautiful. What an amazing, underrated show !

I was a fan of the original season on Channel 7 here in Australia in 2000 - 2003 and I was impressed with how this played out. The cast, locations and the way it was filmed.
My only comment would be the mobile phone elimination reveals were a bit dull. I liked the tv screen logo changing to red with the build up music, but can understand dragging a tv screen everywhere could be difficult.
It was also great to see my home city of Brisbane being shown and the jail they visited is 5 mins from home.

And it’s worth it, although at episode 9 the mole kind of give themself away,, from there onwards my guess is right 😉 netflix please make a lot of seasons for the mole! I watched all of this without skipping ahead. I picked out 3 that could have been the mole. William seemed too good. I did not like the ferry berry boy Greg. And Avori seemed liked she could have been the mole. I liked Jacob, I wanted him to win. The mole was great but in episodes 8 and 9 watch the facial expressions and what he or she does, and it is not too hard to figure out who it is. Congrats to William

One thing that makes the Belgian/Dutch version so successful every year is because of its fandom. 20+ years and many of interesting seasons, contestants and moles.
But the most vital part is the soberness and rawness of the way the show is produced.

That might be something that the Netflix show might completely throw out of the window and make it overproduced and too fake 😅

Releasing this as a binge-able show is THE WORST possible idea in human history. The format of The Mole is meant to be released on a week to week basis, so people can watch one episode and then spend a week discussing information, dissecting assignments, hidden clues, etc, etc. There are entire international fanbases picking apart episodes after they air. It's almost an integral part of the format. Just wactching it back to back takes away ALL suspense, viewer participation and excitement. Whoever thought up this release plan is CLUELESS about what this show is, or should be. HORRIBLE!!!

I agree that they should have released this with a one episode per week schedule. The viewers of ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING were rabid trying to solve the mystery before the next episode. Netflix could have done it that way too. At least episodes are released over three weeks!

This remind me of WhoDunnitIt. i cant remember what it aired on but it was a reality clue type show and a lot of fun. This makes me very excited!

Whodunnit was a partial spinoff of the mole that aired in the summer of 2013. It was notable for having a murder mystery aspect but it had a riddle solver and a written test that eliminated the contestants. Cris Crotz was the mole on that show.

i think it’s kesi, the way she dismissed the obvious flock of pigeons and was adamant on picking the wrong pigeon 🙄 i also hate how she took the exemption and made everyone else sleep on the cold floor. everyone loves to forget that.

@Frenn Vlogz right. Thought so. Joi has been sabotaging a lot and only showing herself as 'a team player' whenever necessary as a disguise. And if you notice, a lot of advantages fell on her laps as if the production has arranged it for her (since she is the mole). My bet is on Joi as the mole.

"Cold hard cash" they found ten thousand dollars in blocks of ice! 😆 I remember watching this show 20years ago (on cbs I think) I could never figure out who it was. The very first season, I thought it was the Asian lady cause she wore a cap with ears once, turns out it was the old man. Fun shit. Its a blast to come back to. Best new host ever, BTW! She behaves like a human and you can tell she's having fun too. Awesome
