In 2011, Machico participated in Horipro's 36th Talent Scout Caravan, but lost to Tadokoro Azusa (田所あずさ). However, she and several other finalists were offered a contract with Horipro. She made her music debut in 2012 and in October of the same year held her first solo concert at Rock Maykan.

Today I tried eating an orange, but I cried because it was still too sour. It reminded me too much of myself so I couldn't throw out the rest of it and I ate the whole thing. I have a bag filled with oranges, all of them are still sour. Will they one day turn sweet or will they just wither away? I don't want to know my future so I'm going to eat all of them.
