Because the industry is sat to only cj&m allies and associates to prosper. Since cj&m had dominated kpop industry for so long and big part of Korean media too. Cj&m companies distribute for other companies their events (from awards to TV shows) promote who they find convenient to. When Mnet used to say (don't know if still do) "we are kpop, Mnet" It was shady but also the truth. Don't kpop stans mostly only respect the groups cj&m promote (go to mama or whatever more cj&m companies invented) (?) Anyway, I believe that is the a swear for ur question.
