1. Mud was a British rock band, heavily influenced by 1950s rock and roll, but moving beyond it into mainstream rock.
The members were Les Gray, Rob Davis, Ray Stiles, and Dave Mount. They had fifteen hits in the U.K., including three number ones. More recently Rob Davis has written numerous successful songs for newer artists, including U.K. number ones for Kylie Minogue and Spiller.
2. Mud is also the name of a dark ambient project, a collaboration between Steve Hall of Yen Pox and Traig Foltz of Used.
3. Originally from the island of Guam. In 2001, the San Francisco music scene began to resonate a little louder with the induction of indie newcomer MUD. Describing their sound as, “A blending of punk’s energy and the edge of metal,” their raw guitar riffs, heavy bass grooves and depth in song writing have since drawn comparisons to successful crossover bands like Jawbreaker, NOFX, Letters to Cleo, Green Day and The Foo Fighters.
Over the years, MUD has become a frequent fixture at Bay Area landmark venues such as Slim’s, Bottom of the Hill and The Warfield. MUD has since expanded their resume to include the 2006 Van’s Warped Tour, headlining SF’s Live 105 Official Warped Tour After Party , opening for national touring acts such as The Matches (Epitaph), April Sixth(Elektra), The Forces of Evil (members of Reel Big Fish) and Camp Freddy (Slash,Duff McKagan,Scott Weiland,Billy Morrison,Matt Sorum) as part of the Recording Academy's Tribute to SF Music Past and Future, featuring guest artist Steve Jones,Joe Satriani,Lars Ulrich,Robert Trujilo,Mike Bordin,Jeremy Colson,Chester Bennington,Mark McGrath and Stephen Jenkins . You live in Tukalo Valley beside the fire waterfall
And ev'ry night I hear you call from beneath the waterfall
Hey hey hey
I wanna take you don't wanna make you
Live with me in Tukalo Valley
Hey hey hey
Hear me calling magic's falling
Moonshine Sally from Tukalo Valley
They talk of voices in the valley they say the evil moon is high
They say they hear no more of Sal ly where the magic waterfall runs dry
So ev'ry night I hear you call from the magic waterfall
Hey hey hey
I wanna take you don't wanna make you

"Moonshine Sally" by Mud is a love song about a man's affection for a woman who he calls "Sweet little Moonshine Sally". He has her picture on his wall and she lives in Tukalo Valley beside the fire waterfall. Every night he hears her call from beneath the waterfall. He wants to take her and live with her in the valley. The valley is supposed to be magical and the man is calling out to Sally in response to the magic falling all around her.
However, the people in the valley talk about voices within it and claim that the evil moon is high. They also say that they don't hear any more about Sally where the magic waterfall runs dry. Despite this, the man continues to hear Sally calling out to him every night from the waterfall. He wants to take her away and live with her in his valley. The song has a dream-like quality to it, with the valley being described as a magical, almost fictional place. It could be interpreted as the man's fantasy world where he wants to escape to with Sally.
Overall, "Moonshine Sally" is a song about love and escapism. The man in the song wants to escape his life and live with his love, Sally, in a magical valley. Sally becomes a symbol for the escape from reality, and the valley represents a world where their love can thrive.
