Pack up
I'm straight
Enough
Oh, say say say
Oh, say say say
Oh, say say say
Oh, say say say
Oh, say say say

Wait, they don't love you like I love you
Wait, they don't love you like I love you
Ma-a-a-a-ps, wait!
They don't love you like I love you

Made off
Don't stray
My kind's your kind
I'll stay the same

Pack up
Don't stray
Oh, say say say
Oh, say say say

Wait! they don't love you like I love you
Wait! they don't love you like I love you
Ma-a-a-a-ps, wait!
They don't love you like I love you
Wait! they don't love you like I love you
Wait! they don't love you like I love you
Ma-a-a-a-ps, wait!
They don't love you like I love you

Uh yea, oh yea
Maps, I need the directions to your heart
To your love, to your feet so I can watch you walk

Pack up
I'm straight
Enough
Oh, say say say
Oh, say say say
Oh, say say say
Oh, say say say
Oh, say say say

Wait, they don't love you like I love you
Wait, they don't love you like I love you
Ma-a-a-a-ps, wait!
They don't love you like I love you
Wait, they don't love you like I love you
Wait, they don't love you like I love you
Ma-a-a-a-ps, wait!
They don't love you like I love you
They don't love you like I love you
Wait, they don't love you like I love you
Wait, they don't love you like I love you
Wait, they don't love you like I love you

Ma-a-a-a-ps, wait!
They don't love you like I love you

Overall Meaning

In "Maps" by Macy's, the opening lines "Pack up, I'm straight, enough" suggest that the singer is moving on from a romantic relationship that hasn't worked out. The repeated line "Oh, say say say" could signify the singer trying to convince themselves that they are over their heartbreak. The chorus, "Wait! They don't love you like I love you, Ma-a-a-a-ps, wait! They don't love you like I love you," is a statement to the ex-partner that no one will love them like the singer did. It is a plea for them to come back and work on the failed relationship.

The second verse "Made off, don't stray, my kind's your kind, I'll stay the same" could imply that the singer's partner may have been unfaithful, but the singer is trying to convince them to come back by suggesting that they belong together. The repeated line "Oh, say say say" in the second half of the song could signify that the singer is trying to convince themselves that their partner will eventually come back. The bridge "Uh yea, oh yea, Maps, I need the directions to your heart, to your love, to your feet so I can watch you walk" is a very direct statement, craving to know where their partner is and how to get them back.

Overall, "Maps" by Macy's is an emotionally charged song about a failed relationship where the singer pleads with their partner to come back, but also tries to convince themselves that they are moving on. The repeated chorus highlights the intensity of the singer's feelings for their ex-partner.

I kinda like it, it has some fun to it. I think she added another side to it, possibly what was missing some nice energy on the track. The original Maps is a classic but it is an emotionally heavy song, whereas this is not. Go Macy!

Just discovered this. I'm hooked on it. Gives it a Pop feel.

croftingsmile

well, for me it's better that the original ;p I really enjoyed this song and its non-straightforwardness, there is a lot of energy and lightness which truly convinced me, plus it reminds me of Florence
