Founding members Chuck Robertson, Sascha Lazor, Todd Rosenberg, Carter Benson and James Malis started the group in high school but the band's membership has changed frequently since its inception. Drummer Todd Rosenberg left the band in 1999, Benson left the band in 2002, and bassist Mark Iversen left the band in 2006. The current lineup consists of:
* Chuck Robertson (lead vocals/rhythm guitar/primary lyricist)
* Sascha Lazor (lead guitar/banjo/primary composer),
* Keith Douglas (trumpet/backing vocals)
* Ed Hernandez (trombone)
* Brian Flenniken (drums/percussion),
* Cris Badham (bass guitar).
The band used to play under the name The Ivy League, but in 1996 they changed their name after signing to the Honest Don's Records label to avoid confusion (and potential litigation) with two prior bands that went by the same moniker. The band's debut album, Quality Soft Core, was released the following year. After the release of the album, the band was signed to Fat Mike's label Fat Wreck Chords, through which the Mad Caddies have since released 4 studio albums, an EP and a live album.

Tired Bones
Mad Caddies Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Your sultry sin that devilish grin reflected in your guise
And with a hesitant hand I will taste it if I can
Not knowing what it takes to be a man
So play on just play on
I've seen it all before so count me in
I hope this night justifies to let go of all I hide
Release my inhibitions in your sin
Well it's 1 2 3 you the world and me
question what's it supposed to mean
Well like it or not this crazy life is all we got
Objective has yet to be seen
So take me out give me your energy
From the inside and just break me down
Wake me up and take my memory
It's mutiny all around these tired bones I'm coming home
We're lost again by new design
So wrap me up and fill my cup with sedatives and wine
I don't know what we have created
but now we're inundated
With all that's wrong so lets enjoy the ride
There's something in the way you move me
There's something in the way so count me in
The lyrics of Mad Caddies's song "Tired Bones" seem to describe a scene of desire and surrender to temptation. The singer sees a person with "crimson eyes" and a "devilish grin" who is enticing them to let go of their inhibitions and indulge in sin. The singer admits to not knowing what it takes to be a man, suggesting that they may be inexperienced or uncertain in matters of lust and passion. Despite this, they are willing to take a chance and "taste it if I can" with a "hesitant hand".
The second verse of the song shifts the focus to the larger picture of life and its meaning. The singer muses on the meaning of "1 2 3 you the world and me" and acknowledges that the objective of life has not yet been revealed. They then call on the object of their desire to "take me out" and "give me your energy" in order to break them down and wake them up. The final line of the verse, "mutiny all around these tired bones I'm coming home", suggests a feeling of weariness and a desire to return to a simpler, more peaceful existence.
Overall, the lyrics of "Tired Bones" suggest a desire for escape and surrender to pleasure in the face of an uncertain and confusing world. The imagery of the "devilish grin" and "sedatives and wine" suggests a dangerous and addictive quality to this desire, but the singer seems willing to take the risk.
