Comprising singer Fred, guitarists Jérémie and Guillaume, bassist Baudoin, and drummer Jonas, the group toured the local club scene and cut several self-financed demos to little notice until mid-2005, when they signed to Sony BMG. While working on their debut LP, Madame Kay starred in an eight-week French television reality series spotlighting the album's production and promotion. Overall Meaning

Madame Kay's song Regarde depicts the end of a relationship that has lost its spark, where both parties have given up on communication and have resigned themselves to the fact that they are no longer what they wanted to be. The opening lyrics "Nothing, nothing is what we wanted / We hurt ourselves, and then what? / We pretend like nothing happened / And we just get used to it" paint a picture of two individuals who are settling for a life that is not what they had dreamt of.
