Don't You Worry
Madasun Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Met a boy on my telephone,
You've been away, now you want to come home.
It's kinda strange since you are the one;
Who left me on my own.

So, don't you worry. (I'm doing fine.)
No don't you worry. (That you left me behind.)
'Cause I love my freedom, and I love my life.
So don't you worry. Coz I'm doing fine!

It's a little crazy you decided to call;
I was thinkin' bout you just an hour ago.
I was wondering if you've changed, hope that you've grown;
Won't you let me know.
It's about a year since I, got involved;
And I can't pretend that I'm not, curious.
If you're wondering why, I'm not making a fuss,
I guess I'm over us!

So, don't you worry. (I'm doing fine.)
No don't you worry. (That you left me behind.)
'Cause I love my freedom, and I love my life.
So don't you worry. Coz I'm doing fine!

So don't you worry,
If I still love thi,
The day you left my life, you lost all your right;
So don't you wonder, what I'm doing;
Well all you need to know is I'm doing fine.

So, don't you worry. (I'm doing fine.)
No don't you worry. (That you left me behind.)

'Cause I love my freedom, and I love my life.
So don't you worry. Coz I'm doing fine!

Overall Meaning

She acknowledges her former lover's call but states that she is doing just fine without him. The lyrics emphasize the woman's emotional and mental strength and encourage listeners to value their independence and well-being. I hadn't heard this song for ages! Great times... and memories! :D

@dcc5931

This song just popped into my head after 20 years, I saw them when they performed at Dreamworld. I still have the autographed CD in the cupboard.

@Autobot_Megatron

These girls were grossly underrated. They were really good- and this song proves it.

@philipduncan842

A one hit wonder that has stuck with me for a decade, that doesn't often happen!

@bobalot2

What about two decades?

@philipduncan842

YEP! And weirdly only recently have I thought about it :)@@bobalot2

@bobalot2

@@philipduncan842 I always wondered why this pop group never took off.

I had a theory that it was because they were a little too old for the ultra yound pop groups of that era.

@xxxTIN0xxx

It's almost 20 years since the release of this banger (February 2000) 😱😳 and it still sounds awesome and fresh after all these years. It's also a nostalgic song to me, I used to sing it all the time. One thing I don't understand is the reason why they didn't achieve success given that this song is infectiously catchy and these girls had awesome vocals. They also debuted before Sugababes, Atomic Kitten and the others but they absolutely flew off the radar, it's inexplicable. Even in the UK this song only reached the top 20 which is a shame considering the myriads of crappy songs from untalented singers that had bigger hits in the UK.

@barringtonwomble4713

When this was #14 on the UK chart... the number one was American Pie by Madonna.
