All or Nothing
Madball Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You can say we're all born to lose in a sense
Right
We all live to die and who knows if there's an afterlife
Either way you hope to leave your mark in some way through the journeys you'll embark on
An old man told me
Kid never settle for anything less than you deserve
Wearing a medal on his chest
A silver star for valor
He didn't have much but was content and what he did mattered
He went all out for us we should go all out for him and us

Hate us or love us we came to prove something
So in the end we can't say it was all for nothing (all OR nothing)
We live to learn
Earn our place in life
We live
We die
But don't go out without a fight

I strive to be the best at whatever I do even when I'm being bad
Yeah that's the honest truth
But being bad never got me anywhere good
So I chose the other road
I had a choice
I could so
Many brothers gone by the way side
Sisters too
The sorrow it fills my eyes
I want to fight
I want to blame
I want to take names
But in the end it's all part of the game
That we can't control
For them we set examples
They went all out for us we should go all out for them and us

Hate us or love us we came to prove something
So in the end we can't say it was all for nothing (all OR nothing)
We live to learn
Earn our place in life
We live
We die
But don't go out without a fight

Respect us
Or fear us
We came to be something
So in the end we can't say it was all for nothing (all OR nothing)
We laugh
We cry
We sacrifice
We live
We die

But don't go out without a fight
All or nothing

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Madball's song "All or Nothing" speaks of the human desire for purpose and the will to leave a legacy behind. It starts by acknowledging that life is fleeting and uncertain, but in the midst of that, we all yearn for significance. The lyrics convey the importance of pursuing one's goals with full force and giving everything you have in whatever venture you undertake. The lyrics further emphasize the regard we have for the people who have gone all-out for us and the need for us to do the same for those who come after us. It highlights the value of putting up a fight for what you want and not settling for less than what you deserve.

Moreover, the lyrics touch on the consequences of making wrong choices and the importance of taking responsibility for our actions. The songwriters share their belief that it's better to strive for the best rather than settle for mediocrity even if it means doing the wrong things. The lyrics suggest that we have a choice in the way we live our lives and the paths we take. The urge to fight and leave our mark is universal, and the track implies that we should embrace that notion and go all-out for ourselves and others.

I´m not on hardcore, but i respect this kind of music for the strenght and power it has, and for the message. Madball are real.I love thrash metal, thats my style, but sometimes i found it soooooooo false... A bunch of kids talking about war and murders, (not everyone, of course) and then i found this badass agresive music with that positive message. Respect!
