Madeline Lyrics

Do you think that she'd let me carry her?
If I grew thick and strong
Do you think I wouldn't be so scared of her?"
Come now, brother
It ain't as bad as it seems
I've been swimmin'
As there are fish in the sea
"I could tell her every story
If I didn't know how boring I can be
And every whisper sounds like a song
That says I've never felt this way before"
Come now, brother
It ain't as bad as it seems
I've been huntin'
And bitches be frontin' when they limp like some wounded beast
"No, but, I don't consider myself the sensitive type
But I get lonely
In all the moments in between when she walks out my door
And comes running home to me"
Come now, brother
It ain't as bad as it seems
I've been swimmin'
There's as many fine women as there are fish in the sea
As there are fish in the sea
As there are fish in the sea
In "Fish in the Sea," Madeline explores themes of love, rejection, and self-love. The first verse presents the idea of transformation and the singer's desire to be strong and powerful enough to carry the object of their affection. However, this desire is still tinged with fear, implying that the singer is not sure if they can handle the full weight of a relationship. The second verse expresses the singer's desire to be interesting and captivating, but they doubt their own abilities. The chorus provides a comforting reminder that there are plenty of options in the world and that the singer will find love eventually.
