Why I keep breathing on
Addiction and a feeling
It's fear and lust in one
To know you is to love you
'Cause love is when it hurts
So I'm crawling up to meet you
Above the universe
Your love is my vertigo
You're taking me high
Your love is my vertigo
And it's making me cry
I try to forget that you
Let me fall so deep again
And I pray this is the end
But I need to fly with you again
With you again
From here this world seems easy
Up here we're everything
So tell me what's the reason
Why I keep giving in?
Your love is my vertigo
You're taking me high
Your love is my vertigo
And it's making me cry
I try to forget that you
Let me fall so deep again
And I pray this is the end
But I need to fly with you again
With you again
I'm drowning too deep
A thousand miles under the sea
Please, please help me
I'm flying too high
A thousand miles above the sky
Why? Tell me why
Do you take me there
Between life and death?
Hoo-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Hoo-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Your love is my vertigo
You're taking me high
Your love is my vertigo
And it's making me cry
I try to forget that you
Let me fall so deep again
And I pray this is the end
But I need to fly with you again (oh-oh-oh-oh-ho-oh-ho)
With you again (oh-oh-oh-oh-ho-oh-ho)
(Ooh-oh-oh-oh-ho-oh-ho) with you again
(Ooh-oh-oh-oh-ho-oh-ho)
The lyrics of Madeline Juno's "Vertigo" deals with the theme of addiction and the inexplicable connection the singer has with their lover. The singer adores and needs their partner despite the emotional baggage that comes with them. The lyrics paint a picture of the singer's desperation to be with their partner, even if it's not good for them. The theme of highs and lows is evident in the lyrics as well - the singer's love for their partner is like free falling, diving too deep in the ocean, or flying too high in the sky.
The lyrics showcase the push and pull between the singer and their partner. The singer experiences fear and lust simultaneously, and it seems like they can't live without their partner's love, despite the pain it's causing them. The singer wants to forget the circumstances in which they had fallen for their partner, but they can't help themselves from needing to be with them again.
Overall, the lyrics show the struggle that comes with turbulent relationships and addiction to someone, even when it's unhealthy. The singer's love for their partner is overpowering, and they can't resist them, despite the chaos it brings.
