From the beginning Madilyn displayed deep care and concern for others. By as early as age seven, she was using songwriting as a way to express the joys and sorrows she saw people go through in life.
Madilyn knew she was onto something when a woman with tears brimming in her eyes approached her after hearing one of her songs. The woman was not only touched by her performance but amazed that Madilyn had written the song herself at such a young age. Her writing has developed and continues to connect with her audience in a special way. In Madilyn’s own words, “I hope my songs are relatable and are able to touch peoples’ hearts. My goal is to make people feel something when they listen.”
And Then There Was YouTube. Madilyn’s desire to reach more people with her music hit a wall almost right away. After all she comes from a very tiny town in northern Wisconsin. YouTube was a great resource and extended her audience.
After posting a few music videos with a close friend, Madilyn courageously uploaded her first solo video in the Fall of 2009. Her submission won a cover contest held by fellow YouTuber Kata Hay. That success was all the inspiration Madilyn needed to start her own channel. In November of the same year the Madilyn Bailey channel was launched.

You keep pushing me aside
And I can't break through
There's no talking to you
It's so sad that you're leaving
It Takes time to believe it
And after all is said and done
You're going to be the lonely one, oh oh
Do you believe in life after love
I can feel something inside me saying
I really don't think you're strong enough, no
Do you believe in life after love
I can feel something inside me saying
But I really don't think you're strong enough, no
What am I supposed to do
Just sit around and wait for you
Well I can't do that
There's no turning back
It takes time to move on
I need love to feel strong
Well I've had time to think it through
And maybe I'm too good for you
Do you believe in life after love
I can feel something inside me saying
And I really don't think you're strong enough, no
Do you believe in life after love
I can feel something inside me saying
But I really don't think you're strong enough, no
And I know that I'll get through this
'Cause I know that I am strong
And I don't need you anymore, no
Oh I don't need you anymore I don't need you anymore
No I don't need you anymore
No I don't need you anymore
Do you believe in life after love
I can feel something inside me saying
But I really don't think you're strong enough, no
Do you believe in life after love, after love
I can feel something inside me saying
But I really don't think you're strong enough, no
Do you believe in life after love
I can feel something inside me saying
And I think, I am strong enough
The lyrics of Madilyn Bailey’s song “Believe” speak to the experience of a broken relationship, and the challenges and emotions that come with it. The song begins by acknowledging the difficulty in communicating with the person who is leaving, and the pain and frustration that comes with trying to break through to them. The chorus asks the question, “Do you believe in life after love?”, highlighting the doubts and uncertainties that arise after losing love. The repeated line “I really don’t think you’re strong enough” speaks both to the singer’s own self-doubt, and her conviction that her ex-partner doesn’t have the resilience to move on.
Throughout the verses, the song moves through different stages of grief and recovery. The singer initially wonders what she’s supposed to do in the aftermath of the breakup, and fears that she’ll be stuck waiting for her partner to come back. As she reflects more deeply, however, she realizes that she needs to go through a process of healing, and that she deserves better than her former partner. By the end of the song, she comes to a place of strength and self-assurance, knowing that she can make it through the pain and find a better future ahead.
