Overall Meaning

The opening of Madison Beer's song The Beginning, consisting of a series of wordless moans, is packed with emotions and sets the tone for what follows. The song is about a doomed love affair, a relationship that began in a beautiful, innocent manner but eventually crumbled due to a lack of commitment or effort. Beer reminisces about the early days of the relationship, the moments of intimate passion and the feelings of love, but wonders where did it all go wrong. She sings about being left hurt and lonely, heartbroken and befuddled, with no way to reconcile the flames of passion from the ashes of a broken relationship.

The song's overall theme is one of loss, grief, and acceptance. Madison Beer's honest and raw delivery of the lyrics shows us that it is okay to feel hurt and let those feelings out. The song is not just about a break-up, it is about how the beginning of different things can give us so much hope and expectations, but sometimes we may take the wrong path, and things won't go as planned.

she started this industry when she was 14 and grew up with people telling her to stop doing music and that she would be more successful as a model. she has pretty privilage, yes, but i do believe she truly enjoys music and writing songs. this is an amazing album so far (i'm on track 5 - effortlessly). i'm obsessed w it.

edit: i wasn't saying that her being pretty was a privilage. i was reffering to the term "pretty privilage" which means that someone has more benefits getting jobs or relationships, things like that because of their appearance. i absolutely think that madison being pretty was not a privilage to her, considering people wanted her to give up and become a runway model instead.

@shannon21229

If anything I think the fact that she’s pretty is kinda a disadvantage aswell because a lot of people only focus on her on the outside when there is so much more to her

@barbie1080

@@shannon21229 i was about to say that tooooo i feel like most people put her music aside and focus on her looks only which sucks bc her music slaps lol

@minerva6545

I'm Sorry but being pretty can also bring you hell for multiple reasons, so I don't believe in pretty privilege, It depends on your luck

@christelleilmet3601

@@minerva6545 regardless if you believe in pretty privilege or not it still exist. Just bc it has its flaws doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist cause it does.
