The lyrics of Mae Estes' song "Naked" is about vulnerability, authenticity and trust in a romantic relationship. She is acknowledging her ability to put on a facade, to hide her true self behind "smoke and mirrors", but she is also admitting that it is not what she wants in a relationship.
