Previously known as Maestro Fresh Wes before shortening his name to Maestro in the late 1990s, he was in 1989 the first Canadian rapper to have a Top 40 hit, "Let Your Backbone Slide". As of 2005, in fact, "Let Your Backbone Slide" remains the best-selling Canadian hip hop single of all time.

After his 1991 album, The Black Tie Affair, Maestro's career faltered as he attempted to break into the United States market. However, he returned to the Canadian charts in 1998, with the hit singles "Stick to Your Vision" and "416/905 (TO Party Anthem)".

In 2005, Maestro covered Lawrence Gowan's song "A Criminal Mind"; Gowan appears in the video and his vocals are sampled on the track.

Williams has also been an actor, most notably in the Omni Television series Metropia. As an actor, he is normally credited as either Wesley Williams, Wes Williams, or Wesley Paris. In addition, he has had small roles in Honey (2003) and Four Brothers (2005). He was set to appear as a security guard in 50 Cent's film Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2005), but his scenes were deleted from the film. He has a supporting role in Instant Star as Darius Mills.

Maestro was born to Guyanese parents and was raised in Scarborough, Ontario. He has previously been romantically linked to Canadian television journalist Marci Ien.

Learn how to rebuke softly and gently and you won't be getting folk like myself getting up in your face and calling you out on your behavior.

And, please, since I took the time to respond in the most tactful of ways, if you feel it necessary to respond, (though I believe you should keep your mouth shut, take your licks, man up and learn something here) don't. Seriously. Don't. I don't care what you have to say at this point. As I said previously, you lost all credibility and whatever else you say is just going to compound your losing position. From the box, the typical harmonica has 10 holes - equal to 19 tones (there is a one repeated tone depending on whether you blow or suck the chord). But it is more complicated - you can play half tones by either sucking the air hard, or by blowing (and this technique is super hard to be done correctly). I've been playing the harmonica for several years in the band. After about three or four years I was able to copy almost every simple melody, but what this guy is doing this is unachievable-level-god. Super, super hard.

Well, half of the notes you play on a harmonica are done with breathing in, so you could play as long as you like without taking a brake.

So true! In college, i took violin lessons using the Suzuki method and learned some of those classical tunes on my harp. At one point my teacher had me sorta prank some faculty members. I walked into the room, opened my violin case, set my bow aside then reached in and pulled my harp from the case and played - it was a surprise to them and gave me a lot of joy - if only i could remember which piece it was - certainly not close to what Buddy does here.

I play harmonica in church and I’m not good enough to be in his shadow. ((Skill-wise). I just worship God with the Harmonica as my “voice” I am improving but by bit.
Listening to Buddy and others encourages me to strive.
